All the lockstep Twitter Dweeb Progressives are claiming the quartering of National Guardsmen in DC hotels is a violation of the Third Amendment to the Constitution. They are accusing Senator Mike Lee of not reading the Constution. The Third Amendment reads:
No Soldier shall, in time of peace be quartered in any house, without the consent of the Owner, nor in time of war, but in a manner to be prescribed by law.
It’s purpose is to prevent the quartering of soldiers in the people’s homes, not in public hotels. These DWEEBS are the one’s who have no concept of reading the Constitution. They seen to think that the hotels’ owners are being forced to rent rooms to the soldiers at a time when the rooms were lying VACANT due to the Corona Virus DemPanic. Nothing could be further from the truth. Nor, for that matter, are these places of public accommodation “houses” under the constitutional definition. Nor, again, does the Mayor of DC have the authority to force the hotels’ owners to evict paying guests, no matter what nature those guests might be, or who is paying for the rooms.
