This author argues that whites wouldn’t want to exercise “white privilege” because they don’t want to be accused of it. Ridiculous.
I’d instead argue simply that if “white privilege” were in any way operative, your dumbass arguments against it wouldn’t be allowed. Ipso facto, since you’re making the argument, there is no such thing.
My thought exactly, but then I suppose there we go interjecting logic into an emotionally charged and fallacious argument. I don’t suppose logic is meant to enter into the fray here, because “muh feelz” or some such horseshit.
Let’s cut to the chase. “White privilege” means whites not giving 100% of their stuff to blacks. Just like regular blackmail, in which the blackmailer can ask for more and more indefinitely, race hustlers will never be satisfied until all whites are eliminated and all their stuff belongs to people of color.
Are whites expected to fix their white privilege?
If so, aren’t they just saving the day again for all races?
The general black population seems to be calling for "Separate but equal treatment.". I thought they wanted it outlawed??
Ive said it once and I will repeat it. , Go ahead and open a. blacks only walmart, mall, theater, restaurant and have at it. now lets make some malls, Walmarts, restaurants etc, all white and see which ones close first.
on second thought black anything will never work without a white subsidy, black only lower interest loan or government backing. They gave out home loans in the 90's. look how that turned out.
White privilege is another one of those pseudo sociological rhetorical arguments prothelytizing another idea: white guilt. You can construct a reciprocal argument easy enough, but that of course isn’t allowed and may even be deemed ‘racist.’ Racist/ism = ad homonym attack usually intended to silence opposing view points.
Don’t waste your time. You’re trying to argue a feeling or perception, and perceptions are hard to argue.
It’s a essay designed to give anyone who disagrees, no way out.
You either must agree or you’re part of the ‘problem’.
There’s a word for this type of design in trapping the opposers, I just can’t recall it off hand.

This concept is the ultimate strawman argument. Blame someone for having something that does not exist and then force that person to try and disprove a negative.
Leftists (i.e. Democrats) are all anti-white racists folks even those with white skin. Maybe we should start calling anti-white, white people Uncle Toms?

You are absolutely right. It is a lack of the “victim” mentality, a realization that one is always responsible for oneself.
These are the lessons and values so often modeled by the father that the black community lacks. Heck, even Bill Cosby tried to change this attitude in the community, and they rejected his truth; this was long before the sexual assault accusations came to light.
...Stores sell products based on demand. 87% of the demand in the US is not black, so stores would logically offer products that satisfy that demand. Go through the rest of the arguments, think, and then ask if there is another explanation that makes more sense.

I live in a 99% white area. Black hair products are on the shelves and not separated. They are usually marked down, as there is no demand and they quickly become shelf-worn.
The posters in my Walmart all feature black families. All black families, not mixed families.
Due to a prison facility in the area, we occasionally see unfamiliar black people. They seem to move on rather quickly.
Grandad can help fight white privilege by making donations to Black charities in the grandson’s name for all gift-giving occasions (and give grandson nothing else, of course).
Grandson will want to turn down any educational & career opportunities that could go instead to a Black person - that will help with several of the facets of white privilege discussed in the article.
As to the shopping & mortgage issues raised, the grandson can keep from perpetuating white privilege by simply having no funds to shop or buy a house. Just sign over his paycheck - his meager earnings from some menial job that no other person could possibly want, because remember he won’t want to take any job that a Black person might want - each week to a Black charity.
