By characterizing them as “regular” black people.
Since 1865 (and arguably before) blacks have despised characterizations that divide them up according to someone’s expectations or biases.
In recent ages, other minorities have come to despise such characterizations also.
By assigning some as “regular”, you correspondingly characterize “irregular” blacks.
This would cause you to define the differences and thusly expose any biases and bigotry you carry.
So, “be careful” lest you be asked to explain any latent bigotries you might have.
Okay, how about “decent and law abiding”? There are decent and law abiding members of every race/ethnic group, and then some who are not.

“Regular” = law abiding, responsible, decent, caring. You know, “regular.” “Irregular” = thug, law-breaking, destructive, irresponsible. “Regular” and “irregular” apply to anyone, regardless of skin color or ethnicity.
And by the way, whites despise being called “white trash,” even though the description may fit. See “irregular” above.
