Mike Tomlin likes the discussion around an incentivized minority hiring process in the NFL.
On "Coffee with Cal," hosted by Kentucky men's basketball coach John Calipari, on Monday morning, the Pittsburgh Steelers head coach said he likes the idea of a change to the Rooney Rule that rewards teams for hiring minority candidates.

Nope. Women and minorities get interviewed for more jobs per an existing rule and minorities specifically attaining high positions such as head coaching roles.

NFL says that since 12% of Americans are black then 12% of coaches, GMs, etc. should be black. Therefore shouldn’t only 12% of the player be black instead of 70% (or more).

There are only around 14 black coaches in the FBS, five of them in the weak PAC-12. Not many of that 14 are all that great. The talent pool is just too small.
The racism is at the university level.
If the desire of some, to reward a team that hires a black man as head coach with a third round pick, does a black woman get another franchise a second round pick? How about a black female lesbian? First overall pick?

The day Coach Tomlin let Alejandro Villanueva walk out of the tunnel to stand alone for the National Anthem was the last moment I have watched my beloved Steelers. I was a lifelong fan but will not get past that moment.
The more I learn about the NFL, the more I realize Belichick isn’t so much a genius, it’s that the rest of them are that stupid.
