When someone tells you something, you have no “source” other than that persons word-of-mouth (WOM).
You either believe them or dismiss them.
In the end, you aren’t engaging your cognitive functions.
In general, retained learning is characterized by Reading >> Lecture (WOM) >> Application/Experimentation
If it’s on YouTube, you can usually click the gear thingy
and set the playback speed to 2X and turn on the captioning.
That can make many of them tolerable...
