It originally meant someone who posts a comment on the internet solely to get a (negative) reaction, and usually for that person's own amusement.

It has since morphed into meaning just about anything anybody wants it to mean, which is usually how these things go.

Lately, it means anybody saying something that somebody else doesn't like.

Beyond the trees, trolling means saying anything that goes against the sheeply group-think.

That’s because you’re not a troll! :)

Trolling is when someone comes onto a thread just to stir up trouble, cause arguments and belittle those in that thread.
