My BIL (ret-MichDoCorr) used to tell his “charges”: You didn’t get busted and put in here on a technicality. You sure as sh*t ain’t getting outta here on one.
And then he told them to “be quiet” and go back to the “library”.
Those are the events where I will swear that everything I’m doing and saying at that moment in time, and for the 15-30 seconds following, feels like a memory that I’m experiencing again. Only it couldn’t possibly be a memory, because I’ve never been in that place or with those people before.

I had one of those as a child. It had to do with a friend of my older sister, krill we called ‘worms’ (that year only), and jumping in the waves at my childhood beach spot.
