Since Trump is encouraging folks to reopen the country, why has he not done so with the US government, which he heads?
Probably phase 1 is some portion of workers go back to work, no public allowed. Phase 2 will be most or all workers back to work, still no public allowed. Then Phase 3 will be allowing public on one or two days a week—no services like restrooms, etc. Phase 4 is little bit more... They will drag this out as long as they can.
My employees interact with contractors who interact with the public. We are busier than ever with changes the pandemic has brought to our work, and new workstreams. We want to show management in DC how effective and productive we can be, so we will be “allowed” more telework in the future, after the pandemic.
I do think American society will be changing so that there will be much more teleworking going forward. Why pay all that rent for cubicles and have one’s employees endure horrible long commutes daily, when this experience has proven we can be more productive at home?
I’m sorry you’ve had trouble reaching a federal employee you need assistance from—what agency?
I’m curious why all the national parks aren’t completely open yet.. l
What the hell are you talking about?
Ive been working throughout this epidemic.

Forgot to add.. I CAN’T Work from home... I have to go in to do my manual labor.. Loving the light traffic in the DC area... Hitting 100 MPH on the Beltways/I-95...
You know, pitbulls have to eat too. Just sayin’
There is no need to order federal employees back to work. What needs to happen is to STOP PAYING THEM to stay at home.
Public employees have NO SKIN IN THE GAME.
When they can’t pay their bills or feed their families, the lock-downs will end.
Everything is running and everyone is working.
IRS is working. Never stopped.
That is nonsense. Stop making stuff up.
I am not having this problem at all and actually have gotten through necessary approvals. I have been working very closely with the regulators. I think you are making it up or you don’t know how to access your regulators properly.
Oh, what am I making up? Is IRS processing printed returns? No. Can you reach anyone? No. Etc.
If the host dies the parisites will die or move on.
No shit Sherlock. That was the entire point of my post, thank you for reinforcing my point that the original post was stupid.
At the federal and state levels most bureaus and agencies and departments should be abolished and Civil Service along with them. All those personnel should be put into the regular economy where the rest of us live. We would not have to work to support them in their cushy offices with their secure paychecks and secure retirements. Almost nothing they do is a proper concern of Government in a free society.
