He was offered PRIVATELY an invite to golf with the POTUS. And yet he PUBLICLY brags to the media that he turned him down. That’s classless. And it has nothing to do with politics.

It has everything to do with politics. The first lines in the article stated:
“Rory McIlroy already had expressed doubts about any future rounds of golf with President Trump, saying in April 2017 that he’d have to “think twice” about it after receiving a considerable amount of heat for his round with the president two months earlier at Trump’s club in West Palm Beach, Fla.”
I don’t think the conservatives would complain. And he admitted he had a good time when he played the first time.
“I will sit here and say the day I had with him I enjoyed,” McIlroy said. “But that doesn’t mean I agree with everything or, in fact, anything he says.”

And he has openly pointed out his dislike for the politics of President Trump. That’s his opinion and he has earned the privilege to it whether he disagrees with Trump or not.
