Each time a new person is infected, the reset button is pressed.

If NYC has to shut down everyone should.

Of course if the plague struck flyover country and not NYC the reverse wouldn’t be true.

Don't know about 14 days...but it has definitely been more than the fifteen days which Americans agreed to.

People are still getting positives. As soon as we have a day with no positives then the 14 days begin. However that is hard to get and then need 14 days of no positives. Tough to do that especially.

Wasn’t really the point.

CA, OR, WA etc needed to do extra damage and shake down the Federal Taxpayer...

there are about a million unaccounted for cases; you gotta wonder how many hoops you have to jump through to be declared “recovered”.

“dead” is pretty easy.

So true. Had this been started in Alabama you can be sure the country would not have shut down.

If the lock down had been fully effective and the incubation period is 14 days or less, then you should have seen a huge drop off after 14 days.

We didn’t see that.
We did see a flattening but not much of a drop off.

The Georgia graph does show a really good drop off.
It peaked on May 22 and has had a dramatic fall off since.

The nation as a whole not so much.

That’s why the lock down’s got extended.
And that’s why the phased reopening approach suggest a 14 day drop before proceeding to the next phase.

If everyone stayed inside like India did, yeah, but that’s not what happened. People were still going shopping, to the doctor, to work (if deemed essential), etc.

What do you consider, “essential?”

Because yesterday is always Day 1.

Kind of like Wimpy: “I’ll gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today.”

15 days wouldn’t hurt Trump’s re-election.

Good answer.

And shut and send 3 trillion dollars to me.

Thanks.
