I felt the same way when they kicked me out of the ward, still sicker than a dog, not even any medicine to take with me.
I had the impression some in the ward were just for show, filling beds to impress that officer who stopped by all the time, like the doctors were trying to justify how many hospital staff they had.
We had guys marching in formation or at PT fall out and taken to the infirmary. A few days later we’d find out the dudes didn’t make it. Several barracks in my unit were quarantined for what they called “meningitis.” Maybe that was just an official cover story. At a base of 20,000 or so I think guys were dying almost daily for a while. The problem was these vaccines I am sure.
