That won’t be working this time around

Only part I may quibble with is the bit about "sticking together when the heat is on".

Grew up outside Chicago, so seeing a member in long standing of that crooked empire get caught and have the rest almost deny he/she/it ever existed (plus arrange for an "accident" if any threat was posed by continuation of that existence) was almost expected.

...some of those "accidents" could be highly unusual and entertaining, though. (Being hit by a train, then drown when the impact just happened to launch the body into the river a city block away was one case I recall...)

Q made reference to Suicide Weekend a few times and I have every confidence that could be another means to the same end....

Yeah you are right Vet. I will qualify that circle the wagons statement with an until a rat needs a dirt nap, Columbian necktie, cement boots, double tap, whatever the occasion calls for, etc.
