From the man they used to call "the round mound of sound!" The man could blow a trumpet like it was noboby's business.
Autumn Leaves is a good one too.
Enjoy!
This is WAY too weird
I heard CC for the first time in ages a month ago

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia...
“Round Mound of Sound” may refer to a nickname for:
-Al Hirt (19221999), American trumpeter and bandleader.
-Kenny Price (19311987), American singer, songwriter, and actor
-Joe Pedicino (born 1949), American professional wrestling announcer
-Kris Johnson (basketball) (born 1975), American basketball player
Thanks for the link.
Al Hirt ... a reminder of the days when musicians actually made music and entertainers were actually entertaining.
My parents had that album, Whipped Cream & Other Delights, and it was one of the few they liked that I liked as well. 8>)
Here is the entire album:
Whipped Cream & Other Delights, Herb Alpert & The Tijuana Brass, 1965 on Vinyl
Perhaps my very favorite instrumental.Reminds me of a happy, innocent childhood.
Yeah she is good, as were the other kids, not sure I can say the same about the sax player though. Sounded like he missed a few notes here & there. 8>)
Boy ain’t that the truth Nonthingburger?
Yeah I liked MacArthur Park, and Eli’s Coming was entertaining too.
How about this one?
“Grazing in the Grass” - Hugh Masekela

MF stands out but I have to give the crown to Miles.
How about The Horse by Cliff Noble & Orchestra.
Whenever I hear a reference to the song, or hear it played, it reminds me of college band days. We all hated the song, but our band leader insisted on playing it at every game. We finally decided that it was on the radio the first time he had sex, and it was a fond memory for him.
I still hate it to this day for that reason.
Now, Chuck Mangione's "Bellavia", that's a different story. A modern day version of "Bolero", if you saw the movie!
Thanks for that link. I am frustrated trumpet player. My heroes were Maynard Ferguson, Herb Alpert and Arturo Sandoval .
