Alexa says we’ll go back to our lives in a month.
But our school district has told employees that it will likely open schools for TWO HALF-DAYS A WEEK next year. Students will take their state provided lunches home with them. They say no one will lose their jobs.
I see this as a huge money grab by districts. They are saving a HUGE AMOUNT of operating costs by closing everything down three days a week.
Who will supervise teens at home in the afternoons and three full days a week? The devil’s playground.
As usual, it is the children, who have no voice, who pay the price. They are entitled to a real education...not a virtual education!
I feel sick about it.
No disagreement here, but it is odd that Cuomo released the data showing that 66% of new hospital admissions were from people at home, not from a stranger on a subway or by passing someone a few feet away in the grocery store. Because public policy is supposed to be data-driven now, right? And this data makes what most blue states and democrat-dominated cities are doing look foolish. We should be gradually opening-up rather than keeping people cooped in their houses.
Because absent a vaccine, natural immunity is the only way people will be able to get back to normal, and we already know a great many more already have “herd immunity” than the experts thought. How did they get it? By interacting with the virus at a low level so they could develop antibodies, that’s how.
