You don’t have to go on and off. You can stabilize your weight, and then slowly raise your carb consumption until you are still in mild ketosis; or slowly switch to a low-carb diet with low-glycemic carbohydrates.

LOW CARB / KETO PING!!!

We’ve noted this in the past. Keto is probably the best treatment for Asthma, although you’ll have to be able to find meat, which isn’t a given these days.

[p.s., anyone wanting to join, or leave, my Low-Carb ping list, just let me know, privately or publicly]

CONGRATS!!! GOOD WORK!

I tell friends and family that losing weight is easy if you do keto. They nod but don't seem to listen.

I guess they would rather be overweight.

Here's a link to two of my favorite keto research docs... Dr. Stephen Phinney and Dr. Jeff Volek

I had a hard time getting my personal doc to understand keto and it took research from these guys and others to get my point across.

Interesting that meat supplies are reported as being short....when....a keto diet has been found to eliminate inflammation....which is the agitation for many diseases.

Also adds weight. As an asthmatic, that means you go up sometimes and down sometimes, and the second one can be quite miserable. But when the pouch grows, you go on diets and take extra Proventil treatments.

Sounds rather unappealing.

Asthma sucks. I’ve had it all my life. And it’s highly seasonal, relates to dryness, humidity, dust, pollen, and worst of all, mold. It’s allergies on steroids, which are often required to treat it.

Congrats!!

We’ve been on Keto for about a year, now.

We love it.

I love not worrying about what to wear to different types of events/occassions. We’ve sized down, in clothing, and have stayed slim for months, now.

I don’t miss sweets, at all. Regular sweets, that is (like cakes, cookies, bakery items).

At first, the first month, or so, it was tough not having those things....but, I began making desserts with Swerve or Sukrin and that took care of those cravings.

I have always made all of my desserts from scratch, so I still do that, for my DD and SIL, and family.

One other thing that we love as a ‘treat’ are the Slim Fast Keto Caramel cluster fat bombs. They taste BETTER than (real sugar) Millionaire candies...and, you get to up your fat intake.

We wish other family members would try keto. Several have unhealthy diets and are at unhealthy weights.

This lifestyle is so easy, you don’t even feel like you’re ‘dieting’, because you’re not.

Who funded the “research” and what is their interest in its outcome?

We’ve noted this in the past. Keto is probably the best treatment for Asthma,

It is also the best treatment for diabetes.I went from 500 down to 110 in about a week. A1C went from 12 to 4.5.

I didn't know it also helped asthma, I did know about HBP and diabetes. I started keto because of my fatty liver from a lifetime of eating too many carbs. In two and a half months I have also lost 22 pounds and my arthritis symptoms have almost gone away. I am so grateful to have found this way of eating, it has changed my life.

How long did it take to go from 12 to 4.5? Any fasting?

So you ended up going off all medication?

Still take BP medicine, but lost 30 pounds as well which had no effect on BP.
