digger48, personally, I have great respect for Senior Fellows of the Hoover Institution, like Dr. Adler. (Also my favorite philosopher, the late, great Eric Voegelin.) Indeed, they do tend to be "voices of reason" in the current age of psycho-babble, "virtual reality," and pseudo-science tyranny. Just my humble opinion.

And Boom Every news outlet is running this BS projection from a “leaked” report that we will have 3,000 deaths a day by the end of the month just as the states are beginning to re-open. Next will come the rigged numbers so MSM can say Trump was warned but he encouraged the states and rat states did the right thing and stayed closed.

Mask is just face saving cover (to coin a phrase) for Fauci, Birx and the CDC who now admit they totally SCROOOOOOOOD the pooch in understanding how this thing spreads.

I don't think Dr. Atlas is suggesting that at all. It's going to be enormously difficult to recover economically; but the longer we wait to get businesses moving again, the more difficult (and prolonged) the recovery will be.

Oh yes indeed. And they have got him locked in a box that I don't know how he's going to get out of. If he contradicts either of them, the lame stream media will set up a great hue and cry that "Trump is anti-science!!!" That's the kiss of death these days....
It seems to me that Drs. Fauci and Birx see the world through the lens of their shifting (and shifty) model. NOTHING is outside of that model, no other considerations need to be addressed. It's all "data,, data, data," and "testing, testing, testing." But what "data?" And what "testing?"
What qualifies as "data" is what fits their model. Other data are irrelevant. And what on earth are they testing for? That seems to shift around a lot, too.
And evidently they are blithely unaware that contract tracing boils down to monitoring the movements of private citizens and invading their privacy. Are we willing to sacrifice personal liberty because liberty is negligible in their model? After all, you can't weigh or measure "liberty." The scientific method cannot deal with things that are substantially immaterial.

You’re hysterical. Of course the businesses will return but not on any timetable and not all uniformly. It will not take long before it is known by even the most rabid pearl clutchers how unnecessary and wrong headed the total sht down was. People will forget, they always have and they always will.
The greater harm will prove to be the lessening of credibility of those who promulgated this hoax.
