It's dated 2017, and I'm not familiar with the source, so who knows if it's true. As to answering your question, it's just like the same way your Congresscritter does it.

An rep. elected for the state of Mo. for example is considered a resident of the state, even though they may live in DC and only “visit” the state a few times while campaigning.

So she kept her official residence as somewhere off CONUS. Immigration is not an issue, because she is a NBC. It's her spouse who was rumored to be “not natural” born citizen.
