To all people with common sense, who have watched events unfold over the past two months, and have made the attempt to read and inform themselves, carefully weighing data, and keeping an open mind, only to ultimately conclude that COVID-19 is not the Black plague, or even a Screaming Blue Meanie, and are mad as hell about it!
Mad about the inaccurate predictions. Mad about massive government overreach. Mad about the scare tactics. And most of all, mad at the easily manipulated sheeple and the naked attempt by politicians to use this flu as a last ditch attempt to defeat Trump.
So here's a way to be heard. Every night at 6 pm, let's open our windows and give a round of applause to the one Western nation that didn't reflexively join the wild herd. The one country that ignored all the noise and used their own judgement.
Sweden will be have the last laugh on all the masked doomsayers. Until they let us go back to living our normal lives, I consider myself to be an honorary Swede!
“You asked a question because you didnt want to say that you didnt know.”
No. You should learn not to try to read minds.
I asked because I did know, and wondered if you did.
Exactly. Because comprehensive antibody testing using super accurate tests hasn’t been done yet, anywhere, which is something I knew.
As long as everyone’s guessing we might be at herd immunity here in the USA as much as Sweden might be.
Look at the actual death stats. In absolute terms they have 2600 deaths, and 2300 of those deaths are ppl 70+. This thing hitting a few nursing homes has upped their stats but doesnt mean anything bad for normal healthy populations.
Sweden’s cases per 1 million is much less than the US. I can’t explain why so many deaths. Sweden’s deaths per 1 million is 265, vs. US 207. https://virusncov.com/
So dont pay rent, shut utilities off, fire staff, eatn no income, pay no taxes, vendors, accounts payable and then just reopen one or two years later? WHAT?
A fascinating discussion from a Noble prize winner who thinks that “lock down” has been a big mistake, death projections for the virus have been grossly over stated and that the growth rate of the epidemic was never exponential. Very much worth watching.
Very interesting site that shows the virus transmission rate by states. Click on the tabs that show the numbers by week starting with 4 weeks ago. Dramatic improvement....very encouraging.
Like here. Vast 80% are 65 and older.

That doesn’t make sense, 265/million is more than 207/million. The chart on post 23 shows the same thing.
US is doing better than Sweden.
There’s no evidence that social distancing did anything to lessen the death rate..... Nobody knows to what degree the virus had already spread before any lock downs..... In New York City for sure the lock down did absolutely nothing.... just look at the graph... It looks like graph from typical flu season..... If the potential for many more deaths was there, then the plateau would have lasted many more days or weeks before trending downward
NYC didn’t start sanitizing subway cars until last week.
Exactly why Trumps actions have been brilliant. They never thought he would listen to the scientists and close the economy. But he recognized their trap. Now we are opening, Trump beat them at their own game, again.
Trump never closed the economy. He just recommended that people should stay home and the Governors closed down the economy!!
Very few restaurant owners own the building they operate in. If it was me, I would say screw it to rent, furlough my employees so they can collect unemployment. Them I can get a job working at Amazon for a year or two. Ha.
It takes a lot of capital to get going again! Most will be financially broke by then and probably declare bankruptcy!
Technically yes, but Trump says all the time “we closed the economy” and “I had to close the best economy the world has ever seen”.
Couldn’t an argument be made that the curve started a downward trajectory shortly after public health measures were implemented in NYC? Didn’t the NYC area drop the R number below 1 thanks to public health measures?
Trump says all the time we closed the economy and I had to close the best economy the world has ever seen.
Yea I know but actually the Governors stopped the economies in their states..
