Southwest Airlines is joining other major carriers in requiring passengers and employees who interact with them to wear face masks.
Starting Sunday, the Dallas-based airline’s employees who have contact with passengers will be required to don face coverings. Passengers will be required starting May 11.
JetBlue started the trend April 27 when it said travelers would have to cover their noses and mouths during trips, beginning next week. Delta, Alaska, United and American quickly followed.

I called for all airline passengers to wear masks months ago.
Why not have every passenger use the plane’s oxygen masks through the entire flight?
They’re not grounded.
They just have no customers.

No, and they do not provide you with a mask, just like they do not provide you with a pants and a shirt if you show up to a flight naked.
Who didn’t see this coming... and ...
They will save money on stopping beverage service. They will probably have masks available for a charge a good price if they don’t approve the one you bring or don’t have one. And if you don’t comply, they’ll have you arrested.
It’s enough to make me stop flying, and not travel outside the country for a while, maybe quite a while. I am sure I am not alone.

I hate that airline. Worst in the airlines. It’s uncomfortable enough on an airplane and now a mask. I won’t be flying at all for two years at least.

Passenger oxygen is only sufficient to enable safe breathing to descend to 10,000 feet.
