The DNC will pitch a new candidate with two points: (1) You might win, but, as the campaign is designed and funded, your purpose is not so much to win as it is to make a good effort, keep the Democratic coalition together, and help hold or improve on the number of Democratic seats in Congress and guarantee a weakened Trump if he is reelected; and (2), do a decent job of it and you will benefit politically and financially in many ways, with a potential run again for President in 2024.
