There is some material I saw which indicates Cohen was a Romney advisor and helped Romney craft a reply to Benghazi. Not sure of that source, however.

Oh wow! thanks for that tidbit...and the kind words!

And here are results from a mini-dive I just did on those two...and found two of particular interest:

Link plus search blurb :
https://alethonews.com/2012/02/04/eliot-cohen-mitt-romneys-man-on-iran/
Eliot Cohen, Mitt Romney’s Man on Iran By Max Blumenthal | Al Akhbar | February 3, 2012

“Should Mitt Romney make it to the White House, his Middle East policy and plan for Iran may be as hawkish as that of Bush Junior, thanks to Eliot Cohen...”

AND

EA Cohen wrote this in the Atlantic. Cohen praises Mittens to the skies for that awful betrayal against POTUS in the impeachment. Link plus search blurb:

https://www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2020/02/mitt-romneys-remarkable-speech/606307/

Eliot A. Cohen. Contributing writer ...” the most important thing about the impeachment of Donald Trump will probably be Mitt Romney’s speech explaining his vote to convict the president of abuse ...”

AND...just a little off subject, but interesting anyway:

Here is an article naming some of the other stellar individuals whom Mittens chose to be on his foreign policy team. However, they picked out Walid Phares in particular to discuss. They pretty much don’t like Walid, it would seem. Link plus search blurb:

https://newrepublic.com/article/96519/romney-walid-phares-sharia-caucus-iowa-pawlenty

“Robert Kagan. Eliot Cohen. Michael Hayden. Dov Zakheim. Michael Chertoff. Skim through the names of Mitt Romney’s recently announced foreign policy team, and you will be struck by the high level ...”
