Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.) on Tuesday defended former Vice President Joe Biden after a reporter asked if she believed allegations from Tara Reade, a former aide who says the then-senator sexually assaulted her in a secluded part of Capitol Hill in 1993.
Gillibrand, who ran for president last year, said she stood by the presumptive Democratic nominee and supported him, noting he had denied the allegations.
So when we say believe women, its for this explicit intention of making sure theres space for all women to come forward to speak their truth, to be heard, Gillibrand said during a conference call with reporters about the Postal Service.
And in this allegation, that is what Tara Reade has done. She has come forward, she has spoken, and they have done an investigation in several outlets. Those investigations, Vice President Biden has called for himself. Vice President Biden has vehemently denied these allegations, and I support Vice President Biden.
The reporter followed up by asking if Democrats who were on the front lines for the hearing into Christine Blasey Fords allegations of sexual assault against Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh see any contradiction in not speaking out on Reades behalf.
No, and I stand by Vice President Biden, Gillibrand said. He has devoted his life to supporting women, and he has vehemently denied this allegation.

Just typical Dem hypocrisy and situational ethics. Women are to be believed . . . when they accuse a Republican.
Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.) is a shrill, demented harpie.
what about “women dont lie?”
Who cares what Kirstin JellyBrain says? You only hear from her on the most vacuous libtard subject ever. Nothing of substance, either the issues or her. She’s a genuine gold-plated boob.
Kristen should show us her tattoos.
I mean, surely this can't be real.
Besides, the slut was asking for it with that short skirt she wore. Right Kirsten?
Right, keep Biden right where he is.
So when we say believe women, its for this explicit intention of making sure theres space for all women to come forward to speak their truth, to be heard, Gillibrand said ”
Translation: To be heard sure (snicker), but not for any Democrat to give a damn that a lowly government employee was sexually assaulted by a US Senator who gets off on getting away with anything.
None left, they all moved to Texas !
“I stand by Vice President Biden, Gillibrand said. He has devoted his life to supporting women, and he has vehemently denied this allegation.
Has he denied it at all? His “campaign” has issued statements. I’m not so sure HE has denied the specific accusations. If anyone knows otherwise, is there video?
Rumor has it that her mother was the long-time boinker (or was she the boinkee) of Erastus Corning, who was one of the most powerful Rats in the state when he died back in the early 80’s.
Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand ( Hypocrite-N.Y.)
This showed up way too conveniently.
Exact details escape me, but I recall this breaking about 3 days after some major mis step. Too often Ive seen this pattern in the Left: The Party has some sudden interest in knocking out one of their own, and within 3 days - as though theres some keeper of documented closet skeletons - a politically terminal fact emerges.
Note...she said she stands by Joe...not in front of him.
It is real, and don’t call me Shirley.
One free rape rule...
Is there an implied understanding between Rats that aligations of sexual abuse can be used against Republicans? Or is it something they talk openly about with each other?
“...is it something they talk openly about with each other?”
There has been some uncharacteristic honesty about the Left’s double-standard for this sort of issue. It’s all about abortion. I think it might have been Gloria Steinem who said during the Monica Lewinsky scandal that she would happily perform the same act on Bill Clinton to thank him for keeping abortion legal.
Abortion is all that really matters to these people. That’s what Gillibrand was alluding to with her remarks about how Joe Biden had supported women for years. The fear that Kavanaugh might threaten Roe v Wade was what made him guilty of sexual assault. The ridiculousness of the charges and the complete lack of corroboration were irrelevant.
Because it is a sign of affection and respect when a high level Democrat politician sexually assaults a woman.
Wasnt it a Kennedy who said Ask not what your politician can do for you; ask what you can do for your politician.?
