“If you look at the current data for NYC you will see that the city has already passed the .1% mark for the death rate. If it holds at something like that we would expect 5000 deaths. But if it creeps up toward 1% we are looking at 50,000 in NYC alone. Not good.”

The current data for NYC on the Johns Hopkins map is 16,388 deaths.

That looks about right. They are more like .2% right now based on the total population of NYC. It will probably end up higher than that.
