Facial recognition systems threaten our privacy. They can track where you go and add that information to the massive amount of information already saved about each of us. Big Brother is watching you and enabled by AI. And when it makes a mistake reading your face, you could end up with criminal charges far worse than when the toll tag system misreads your license plate. Here are several methods for fooling and interfering with facial recognition systems.

You have to add ‘humans’ now because the in crowd has ‘fur babies’ and they always assume fur baby first.

Add to the confusion by pointing out the USFDA has set limits on the amount of rodent fecal matter permitted in flour, etc...
Back when my daughter was four or five (about 15 years ago) we went to JFK airport to pick up her grandparents. Their plane was delayed, and it fell to me to entertain her (I was her main source of entertainment at that time, which is certainly not the case today).
She loved to explore with me, so we went on a sort of random walk all around the JFK terminal, retracing our steps on several occasions.
Once we passed a man who's face caught my eye. He appeared to be wearing a mustache, but it looked odd to me. I thought it almost looked like it might be a black piece of paper glued to his upper lip.
A few minutes later, my daughter and I were going up one of the escalators, and the aforementioned gentleman was coming down the opposite escalator right toward me! I write machine vision software for a living, and therefore was not shy about staring at him as he glided past me going down. At closest approach, I was less than three feet from his face.
And I was right! He was definitely wearing a pasted-on mustache; it appeared to be made from "flocking paper," which is black, has a velvety finish, and comes with an adhesive backing. It is often used for lining the interior of amateur telescopes and other inexpensive optical equipment. It does not reflect light at all, looking dead black from a distance.
My theory at the time, and still to this day, was that this guy was testing a facial-recognition system in the airport that day. He may have been an airport employee or someone working for the facial recognition company. He was dressed casually. Since my daughter and I were walking around randomly, and we encountered him twice, it's a good bet that he was walking around randomly too.
Maybe not... the reason that men’s beards have fecal matter has to do with Men being more unlikely to wash their hands when using the bathroom and where many men put their heads...

I was just thinking on this the other day. The same government that has spent millions of dollars on facial recognition is now telling us to wear masks.
I thought about that last week - with everyone wearing face/nose/mouth masks, the facial recognition systems/cameras are going to be obsolete.
She’s a SciFi writer... could be her books deal with alien births...
Fascinating...I have never read a post of yours like that...of COURSE it makes sense they would have to test that in real time.
Machine vision software...very interesting. Is that for robotic applications? Just curious...
Bkmrk
Many applications, all kinds of things.
Looks like Tourist Guy was also at that game. (lower right side of photo)
If you want to make a point of not being recognized and piss off the watchers, don one of those Groucho Marx costume nose/glasses/moustache and look directly at, and wave to, every security camera you can spot!

“The Money Heist mask”
hey, it worked in Money Heist ...
Well, these days she could be the mother of a dog and a cat. I guess you have to clarify these things now.
Newer facial recognition systems can work around the face mask / surgical mask.
