I wouldn’t expect any drug to be FULLY protective
There is no “silver bullet” in the pharmaceutical world. There is no drug that has a 100% cure rate without side effects. However, HCQ seems to be considerably less lethal and more effective than many (frightfully expensive) “miracle drugs”. It would be interesting to see how many of the “experts” cited in the article are bought and paid for by “big Pharma”. Big Pharma has no interest in inexpensive, effective medicines. Pardon me, but the article seems to be a bullsh*t hit piece from Pharma minions. Just remember that many of the new psoriasis and arthritis drug have to warn that one of their many side effects is death.
Nothing mentioned about zinc from the piece above. Without zinc, HCQ is not as effective
The modern treatment of immune mediated rheumatic disorders such as lupus and rheumatoid arthritis is to inhibit the immune system. When treating COVID-19 with hydroxychloroquine, there appears to be a beneficial effect as evidenced by observed clinical outcomes and a sharp decline in C Reactive Protein which is a marker of inflammation. It is really unknown just how hydroxychloroquine may work but apparently it mitigates the “cytokine storm” which seems to “drown” and injure the respiratory tissue. In any case good frontline physicians will use what they have. The scientific explanations will come later. Democratic governors must stop putting impediments to the timely prescription and dispensing of hydroxychloroquine.
You’ve got to have the zinc, too. Hydroxychloroquine doesn’t work by itself.

The real question is not if it prevents them from getting Covid-19, but rather if they feel any ill effects of Covid-19, and do they recover?
Was it taken with Zithromax? If not, then the Trump pills aren’t as effective.

But these drugs may be the best therapy we have at the moment.
If you are infected and do not want to take this therapy, that is your choice.
And you can die on a ventilator if you wish too.
Geez, is it stupidity of disinformation or both that keeps being peddled to the public. HCQ is not just an anti-inflammatory to treat arthritis. Its biggest claim to fame in treating the virus is that it is an ionophore. I’m not a doctor and even I can understand how it works. It has to be administered in companion with a therapeutic - zinc in the case of COVID-19.
I stopped reading this worthless piece after scanning and seeing this halfway down:

Hcq role will probably be that of an agent which moderates the bodies immune response so that vital tissue is not overwhelmed by immune system. Pt can then recover with antibiotics...mechanical assistance...fluids etc without deleterious effects of immune system.
To stop virus from reproducing a compund which inhibits its replication would eradicate it. Same tact used with many virus related disease.
I don’t recall anyone calling HCQ a cure.
It has shown to help many who have taken it. To deny that is to deny what is right in front of your eyes.
Every medicine has side and adverse effects. And, no medicine has its intended therapeutic effect for its entire targeted audience.
I’d like to see them apply the same standards to chemotherapy and cancer.
