The NYT is of course beyind paywall and I didn’t try to read using one of the work arounds, but looks like it could be cover. Since twitter has, I assume, stock holders, maybe they are losing $ since twitter is so horrible? Or is the $ part irrelevant?
the link is to an image of the article. You don’t have to worry about the paywall.
Dollars are irrelevant until they're relevant. Marvel and DC comics were taken over by social justice warriors. When fans complained about the way the comics were going, they insulted them on twitter, made posts like "creators aren't customer service reps," and said, "If you don't like them, don't read them. Problem solved."
Fast forward six months...Marvel and DC have both told their content creators "pencils down" no more paycheck, and now they're begging the same fans they insulted to come back.
Twitter has been so toxic to conservatives and depersoned so many advertisers, that most of their liberal ads get nothing but toxic response. That has to hurt revenues. Add to that, the head of Twitter has made comments indicating he's a satanist.
Quick note on the comics. Some of the "creators" don't care. The guy who created the characters Safeplace and Snowflake apparently inherited millions of dollars, and printed books like "Santa's Husband" as a vanity thing. He comes in, totals out an area with his sick stuff, and then walks off to find the next industry to destroy.
