I would assume that workers are getting them first, then retirees and SS next!! Since retirees and those on SS are still getting income the workers furloughed and hour cut would be first!!
How does the IRS know who is a worker and who is not?
I suppose they can check for existence of a W-2 form in tax return. But I doubt IRS software for stimulus checks is that sophisticated. My daughter has not received the deposit and she works, but filed taxes just recently in April.
I’m retired and got mine today. All three of my working kids are still waiting. They all make pretty good salaries. I’m thinking they started with the least gross incomes and are working up to the limit.
