Study shows copper surfaces rapidly kill human coronavirus
Surfaces made of copper and copper alloys can inactivate a human coronavirus within minutesas opposed to days for other surfacesshowing potential to combat MERS-CoV and other respiratory viruses, University of Southampton researchers reported today in mBio.
The team studied 229E, a human coronavirus closely related to MERS and SARS viruses that can cause disease ranging from the common cold to pneumonia. The virus remained infectious for at least 5 days on a range of common surfaces, such as stainless steel, Teflon, PVC, ceramic, glass, and silicone.
On a range of copper alloys, however, 229E was inactivated within a few minutes for a dose that simulated fingertip contamination. "Exposure to copper destroyed the viral genomes and irreversibly affected virus morphology, including disintegration of envelope and dispersal of surface spikes," the author wrote.
Not too bad actually. Vacuum first and then flat mop with those flat recangular mops with the removable bonnet slightly damp.
Yeah, I don’t know how this information is useful. Unless they can put a copper compound into a cleaning fluid or something.
If I you can find an ozone generator (+/- $200 on Amazon) you can use it to disinfect things and places My reading says its effective (though there are some who dont agree)
In any case do NOT breathe the gas it gives off. Just let it dissipate.
They have Staph at V Med?
And then one can begin to use old implements....
Amazing
It exists. There is a place in Montana, the 50,000 Silver Dollar. It’s a bar/ tourist stop. Their place has silver dollars on the bar, the wall, all over.
Copper or copper oxide in face masks is not a new idea. These products are available in the market now.

Some sports masks for Arctic conditions have a copper mesh which acts as a heat exchanger / thermal storage reservoir. This retains heat upon exhalation and warms / humidifies the air of the next breath drawn.
Just a curious factoidif one preheats glass sufficiently, it will absorb microwave energy within a common oven and melt.
Bath in copper pennies. Use a toilet made of pennies.

The copper top bar in a saloon near my home should be great, then?
