I'm not real sure the following is a good analogy, but I look at the CV spread like a wildfire. As a wildfire burns, it occasionally encounters new areas with dense vegetation, then it flares up and gets going.
I was planning to add Calif., maybe Louisiana. If anyone has any idea as to which state may have caused the recent spike for the US, that would be a good state to add as well.
Calif should be interesting. when the virus hits a nursing home (and we have plenty) it rockets the numbers up by the dozens.
Also, the states NYers would flee to - GA/NC/SC/OH/TN
TN especially has quadrupled. in a week. Are these NY transplants?
Anderson Cooper is actually promoting Q codes and telephone tracing on his show. He did give lip service to civil rights and castle privacy, but now continuing on with his guest promoting this idea.
SK, for their part, is also using bracelets in addition to telephone apps. SK being about number 3 or 4 in the world for video surveillance on every street corner, the camera software can be trained to spot the (white) bracelets.
The China-model system of phone for everything, from ordering food, to getting a bus or uber, including red, yellow and green codes that can be changed in a heartbeat for political reasons, isn’t something America should embrace. For America, I’d rather see a bracelet or a ankle bracelet for mandatory quarantines - and then only after a violation. Put the parole officers to work so it’s out of Big Brother control and back at the local level of justice.
What a story to tell your grandkids.
There I was, in the middle of the Amazon rain forest, when....all of the sudden...
Yeah, good analogy.
I guess La would be a good candidate.
I’d like to see a state done before it hits it’s surge. But not sure why.
I expect your metric to be surpassed by new info, but haven’t seen that happen yet.
Releasing young people could be best way out of lockdown, experts suggest
https://news.yahoo.com/coronavirus-releasing-young-people-could-be-best-way-out-of-lockdown-experts-suggest-150828964.html
Allowing the 4.2 million 20- to 30-year-olds in the UK who do not live with older people to resume their daily lives could get the economy moving again, while protecting older people who appear to be more susceptible to severe cases of the virus.
Of those, 2.6 million are employed in the private sector and are more likely to lose their jobs or income during a lengthy lockdown. Releasing them to resume work would allow them to fulfil vital roles in the UKs transport and delivery network, or open small businesses to stimulate the economy, according to the report
I thought Barr’s answer to Laura Ingrahams question, about our civil liberties being restricted, during this time, was interesting....
He said, Well, there are occasions when our civil liberties have to be restricted....like in times of war, or, for this pandemic.
I couldn’t listen to the entire interview, but I know they discussed civil liberties SEVERAL times.
I’ll look for link.
“Yikes....thats a lot of wasted time and EFFORT, to put the CenturyLink field hospital together...”
Yeah, but lots of emergency preps are like that. Like having a bunch of N95 masks in storage, but letting them dwindle down because the pandemic never came.
I’m guessing the NG can use the practice anyway in setting up field hospitals. I’m glad it is leaving my back yard. I’m gladly surprised it hasn’t been worse here in Washington State. Of course Seattle is practically a ghost town...

There's this...
So @IngrahamAngle asked AG Bill Barr today about "digital certificates" that would certify Americans had immunity to coronavirus in order to travel and work.
Barr said: "I'm very concerned about the slippery slope in terms of continuing encroachments on personal liberty."— Emerald Robinson ✝️ (@EmeraldRobinson) April 9, 2020

Yep....good practice :-)
Glad it wasn’t needed in your area.
I almost said it yesterday, when I watched a video of Garcetti applauding citizens for ‘snitching’ (his word) on their neighbors. But I will say it today after watching some talking head idiots promoting 18mo lockdowns and Q codes that china is so ‘brilliant’ and ‘smart’ to use..
Ever get the feeling that local leaders are using the pandemic to see just how far we can be pushed? Not really pushed right now, but nudged, sometimes ever so slightly, but nudged all the same. I’m not liking the communist vibe that’s starting to seep in.
This stuff is why there was never a *real* effort on the part of the CDC/HHS to keep this disease out.
Just at what they accomplished by kicking the testing ball into the weeds...
civil rights abuses/mandatory vaccination
dead bodies
‘Get Trump’ with all of the above.
What’s not to love for Swamp creatures?
I wonder if NY...and, other states, are keeping track of all of the prisoners they let free, due to CV.
Do you think they’re staying at home, to flatten the curve?
I’m sure they have ankle bracelets............right?
:- /
thanks lol - while you were posting that, I was posting my first - on the same line of thought !! peas and carrots ...:)
Yep, agree.
It’s even seeping/creeping out at Fox, on a few shows.
I don’t see Trump....or We the People going for these absurd timeframes for lockdowns.
I do get miffed when they’re asked....all of them at the briefings...when America can get back to work, back to normal routines.....they all say the same thing....not going to give any specific timelines :(
No doubt the lefties are using this to push their commie agenda....vax for all, tracking, etc.
:-)
Yep....thinking along the same lines.
that could explain the rise in domestic violence?
seriously tho, they better be ankle-cuffed. But then, where are they going to go? Curfew letters have gone out for workers, haven’t heard any formal announcement here in SoCal, but no telling how many towns and such have curfews in place. So they’d be sitting ducks if they get up to shennannigans. Check forgers and prostitutes hit hardest.
That's kinda why I leave Korea in the world graph. Gives a standard to judge others by. At the beginning of this, my thought was this particular metric might serve as some sort of scoring mechanism for determining who was having the best success in fighting this, and who wasn't.
Think about Fl, and blueplum is always full of excellent ideas ( states NYers would flee to
).
I'll start adding LA, then...we can keep adding until it becomes hard to see who-is-who, eventually...:)
Oh boy...
