Yes, and people (including me) use various terms interchangeably to refer to “black coat Jews”, when they are really very different, albeit all Orthodox

Think of a Venn diagram:

Orthodox is the large circle.

One part is modern Orthodox. They adhere to the Torah and wear a kippah, but typically do not wear a black coat. It’s the largest group of Orthodox and includes most Mizrahim (Jews from the Muslim countries). Among this group are the Religious Zionist — I was raised in that group in Gush Katif, Israel.

Also inside that circle are what I will call “black coat” Jews — Jews that look Amish.

Inside the black coat group are several smaller, sometimes, overlapping groups: Haredi, Hasidic (think Chabad)) and several others.

Hasidic include Chabad. My wife is from a Hasidic family and I adopted the “black coat” dress out of respect for her family. (Although most of my working day is spent in a flight suit.)

Inside the Haredi group are the NK, Satmar, and various other Litvik groups.

The culty groups that cause problems for Israel tend to come from the Haredi subset of the “black coat” Jews.

Anyway, this is a gross oversimplification and partially wrong for simplicity. But it should help you.
