It’s possible that the first line of defense failed, HCQ/Zpack or it wasn’t given early enough, or not given at all.
I think they might rush him some Remdesivir from the US, and/or maybe Tocilizumab? They have proven to be effective in some dire cases.
Typical case is 5 days asymptomatic following infection, 10 days of symptoms, if not resolved then hospitalization around day 10-12 (15-17 in reality) and ICU/vent around 2-3 days after that, at which time men are 50/50 and women are 60/40 survival rate.
Wouldn’t it make more sense to change tactics and attempt to interrupt the viral cycle somewhere around the 5th day of symptoms (10 days infected - when everyone is told to stay and home and tough it out) instead of waiting until the case is 3 weeks into the virus? THAT, would be a true test of the Z-Pac combo.
