The Democratic Party may have a serious problem on its hands.
Podcast host Joe Rogan, who in January endorsed Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanderss 2020 primary campaign, says he would rather vote for President Trump in the fall if the only other option is former Vice President Joe Biden.
Though Rogans remarks were not made as an explicit warning to the Democratic National Committee, which has long backed Biden for president against other 2020 primary candidates, including Sanders, who is still running, the organization probably should take it as such. That is, if someone like Rogan, who has a massive audience of listeners who are similarly disconnected from partisan activism, has zero intention of supporting Biden, and may even support the Republican incumbent, then the Democratic Party may be in for a world of hurt come November.
Rogans comments about supporting Trump came Friday amid a broader discussion with Thiel Capital Managing Director Eric Weinstein.
I think that in general, people, when they are given no choice at all, express themselves moronically, Weinstein said.
The host of the Joe Rogan Experience answered, When they are given no choice at all how so?
I want a choice of an actual president thats viable, said Weinstein. I dont have one. Now youre going to ask me which of the nonviable people do you like best?
Rogan, who is not a big political guy and cannot rightly be characterized as conservative or liberal, at this point launched into his thoughts on the current state of the 2020 presidential election.
This is the real issue with the Democratic Party, said the host. Theyve essentially made us all morons with this Joe Biden thing. ... I cant vote for that guy."
This is the part where DNC operatives should take note. If they are losing previously interested voters from that bloc of people who are only mildly interested in politics and losing them to the point where they may even vote Republican in November, then the Democratic Party's problems going into the 2020 election may be greater than previously suspected.
Id rather vote for Trump than [Biden], said Rogan. I dont think [Biden] can handle anything. Youre relying entirely on his cabinet. If you want to talk about an individual leader who can communicate, he cant do that.
The host added, And we dont know what the f--- hell be like after a year in office. The pressure of being president of the United States is something that no one has ever prepared for. The only one who seems to be fine with it is Trump, oddly enough. He doesnt seem to be aging at all or in any sort of decline. Obama, almost immediately, started looking older. George W. [Bush], almost immediately, started looking older.
As of this writing, the YouTube video of their discussion, which was posted online on April 3 by the official Joe Rogan Experience account, has been viewed by more than 2.2 million people. That is more than 2 million views in less than 72 hours, none of which is good news for Biden, who has been confined to campaigning from his basement.
If the Democratic Party was not worried already about a lack of enthusiasm for its presumptive 2020 nominee, Rogan's flip should change that.
Well, Biden was the Vice Empty Chair.
People follow Joe Rogan because he’s funny and positive.
Rogan is big darn canary then.
If he endorsed Bernie, you pretty much know where he stands.
Right. And I think his suggestion that he would vote for Bernie was “tongue-in-cheek.”
A couple of weeks ago Rogan posted a segment on YouTube where he focused on Biden’s dementia, and it was not flattering.
I don’t follow Rogan a whole lot, but I would have NEVER thought that he was a Bernie Bro. I always had the impression he leaned to the Libertarian side.
I think the majority of the Berniebots will vote for the eventual Democrat nominee, but a good many will stay home and a few may vote for Trump. They have to be furious knowing the Democrat establishment, with help from their media allies, were pushing a clearly mentally deficient Joe Biden over their guy and succeeded!
Yes the whole Bernie thing was a bit of a surprise. He likes Jordan Petersen and other Conservative thinkers. I think Joe is just concerned with getting invited to the right left coast parties. He does have some fantastic guest on his show, from Paul Stammets to Jordan Petersen to cutting edge guys and gals on nutrition and fitness. I like the guy's podcast.
Rogan, who has endorsed Bernie Sanders, said the party had made "morons" out of voters by appearing to favour Biden. "I'd rather vote for Trump than [Biden]," said Rogan. "I don't think [Biden] can handle anything. You're relying entirely on his cabinet. If you want to talk about an individual leader who can communicate, he can't do that. And we don't know what the **** he'll be like after a year in office. The pressure of being president of the United States is something that no one has ever prepared for. The only one who seems to be fine with it is Trump, oddly enough... He doesn't seem to be aging at all or in any sort of decline. Obama, almost immediately, started looking older. George W [Bush], almost immediately, started looking older." ...Describing the former US senator as "very old", Rogan said Biden's famous verbal slip-ups were "not a normal way to communicate unless he's high".
Joe Rogan would 'rather vote for Trump than Biden' after endorsing Sanders
There goes his Twitter following. Here's the YT link:

"This is EXACTLY why we MUST BAN COAL MINING! Ah, here's my limo. Wait, why is there a gurney inside?"
Got a link to that show?
The presidential race seems to be a foregone conclusion, so the NRCC and NRSC and state races should be where all the emphasis and money is going.
That is, having a strongly Republican House and Senate will act as “force multipliers” for President Trump, making his second term far more potent than his first. Hopefully the Democrats will be like whipped dogs cringing in the corner of their cage.
Theyve essentially made us all morons with this Joe Biden thing.
Obama
Clinton
It’s called a habit.
I’m a history podcaster, so I listened to Joe Rogan when he had Dan Carlin, the “godfather” of history podcasters, on his show. It amazes me how Joe can talk for four hours at a time without running out of things to say; I don’t think he uses a script. And yes, my wife hopes that one day I will be as successful as Joe and Dan.
“Hopefully the Democrats will be like whipped dogs cringing in the corner of their cage.”
You mean like the way dogs are treated in China and Vietnam, just before they are killed and cooked?
