Even countries like France have had issues reporting numbers. They had a backlog of nursing home deaths that didn’t get reported and it spiked their numbers last week.

That is true. All have, including the US.

The media should not even report on Chinese numbers at this point. You might see blips in countries like France, USA, etc., but it’s obvious to anyone with a brain the Chinese numbers are made up. I ignore them when any data on COVID-19 is released.

Singapore prepares huge isolation ward and locks down.
Only 120 new cases but they take that very seriously.

“All of the taxpayer dollars thrown at free food, housing, healthcare, education, etc haven’t remedied the obesity problem, within the lower income groups.”

That “free food” tends to be of lower quality in general - largely excepting WIC - and most of the people don’t work or work less than full time. They have TVs but not gym club memberships or treadmills and many abuse drugs and alcohol. This leads in general to poorer health on average.

Sorry for all the stereotypes. It’s more of a lifestyle/culture issue than a race issue. I would not be surprised to see it hit other demographics just as hard if those demographics have similar lifestyles.

Probably more associated with use of public transportation than race. Directly and indirectly. Even if you don’t take the bus/train, the people you associate with do.

That looks beautiful to me!

It does, doesn't it! President Trump said today, he saw a glimmer of hope too.

I want to imagine all tracks meeting together at a single data point on the baseline in a few days. :)

Probably just setting myself up for a disappointment - but we shall see.

There are two main types being talked about S and L. L is for lethal, I guess S is for serious.

There is no evidence that any of the minuscule mutations of this virus is more dangerous than another. That claim circulated a month ago, and outside of internet forums, has been dismissed.

I need hope.

It’s more of a lifestyle/culture issue than a race issue.

BINGO! You win the prize! 🏆

And, you reiterated my point.....all of the tax dollars thrown at these groups, over the years, has done NOTHING to help them improve their lifestyles.

Giving FreeStuff doesn't incent anyone to do anything to better their situation, or for their self-responsibiility and self-respect.

There has to be a sense of earning and related accomplishment.

The Dems Ca$hOut Program™ has only hurt these groups, generationally.

From what I see, we’ve turned a corner, but let’s give it another day or two.

Many, if not most, of the nominal "nations" in the world do not have real governments as we understand them, and certainly lack the means to track deaths from CV19 separately from other deaths. Demographers and epidemologists can, over a period of years afterwards, develop fairly good estimates of a given nominal "nation's" epidemic fatalities.

Estimates compiled while an epidemic is on-going are pretty useless, if only because of pretty wild variations in the definitions of a CV19 fatality between developed nations with real governments.

The only CV19 statistics we can rely on at this point are those compiled by American medical systems. Even then there are major differences between states. New York, as an example, considers a CV19 fatalitiy as being somewho had CV19 at the time when he died, even if he died of something else, like being shot in the head.

“Once this virus gets going in countries like Africa, India, Pakistan, Mexico, and other South American countries, it could be devastating. It will be hard to keep count.”

It is already going strong in South America, Central America, Central Asia, and probably significantly worse in Africa (but there is less anecdotal evidence for that).

I have a friend in Brazil, said the residents were partying it up in the slums during lockdown.

I have another friend in Kenya that says nothing is going on - he’s still in the race/age/gender/blood type matters realm, so not fully taking it seriously. I know his whole family and they are all thin and relatively fit. Still only 4 deaths there, officially.

Their reported numbers are becoming statistically insignificant, anyway.

Now, what percent of those seniors have high BMI, existing diabetes and/or respiratory conditions?

BMI does not necessarily predict insulin resistance in the elderly. A better method is first a DEXA scan or segmented full body impedance analysis. Sarcopenia diagnosis will predict a failed Kraft test. We found Basal Metabolic Rate to be a greater predictor of metabolic dysfunction in those with "normal" BMI and frailty. Frailty is can be defined as clinical sarcopenia.

We also see insulin resistance in cancer cachexia. Arguably, some have argued if it is a chicken and egg scenario where high glucose leads to cancer. All cancer uses glucose as the substrate energy.
