That is when we “Fearpers” were very busy stocking up for what we knew was coming—and every store had lots of everything we needed—and no crowds—and nobody gave us a second glance.

Well, this Fearper (along with others, no doubt) was well stocked by then and even pulling back due to the virus then being widespread (our prepping for this began a month earlier). And, in my case, it was less than a week later that I told my boss that I was not going to show up at the office again.
...and meanwhile, the FluBros were finalizing their Spring Break and Cruise plans.
