“The first US death was recorded on February 29...That is when we Fearpers were very busy stocking up for what we knew was comingand every store had lots of everything we neededand no crowdsand nobody gave us a second glance.”
Well, this Fearper (along with others, no doubt) was well stocked by then and even pulling back due to the virus then being widespread (our prepping for this began a month earlier). And, in my case, it was less than a week later that I told my boss that I was not going to show up at the office again.
...and meanwhile, the FluBros were finalizing their Spring Break and Cruise plans.
2/25 was when I texted my family members and suggested they stock up for a month or two
Went out to local sams club this afternoon for some additional items. Things I did notice inside the store. Many were wearing masks. Few were wearing gloves and only myself wearing goggles. I was getting plenty of looks. For the most part people were keeping their distance.
They were out of toilet paper and paper towels, most meats and low on laundry items. Everything else was pretty well stocked. Gas was 1.74 per gallon
I love sams because they have an app that I can scan my items and not have to stand at the checkout.
Got home and sprayed the non perishable items with a bleach solution. Freezer items were removed with fresh gloves and mask on. Placed in secondary freezer all outside of their original exterior packaging.
Aside from TP and paper towels, we will need them in about a month, I will not be heading back to the stores for grocery items.
yup. Having 100 airlifters 5 miles from my home on Feb 1, was my trigger. Done before they were paroled.
I heard a conversation in Wal-Mart in which a Black lady was discussing the current situation with a staffer, and she said that her husband is a prepper, and that drove her crazy, but she now understood it. I said to her, “Good Husband.”
