Is there a typo on Vitamin C?

“Vit C 3g IV q 6 hourly” — 3 GRAMS intravenously every 6 hours? That’s 12 grams per day.

RDA is 0.090 grams per day. The tolerable upper intake level, or UL, of vitamin C for adults ages 19 and older is 2 grams per day.

You’re full of crap about the tolerable upper intake level.
I’ve taken a dozen GRAMS in the morning, when I felt a cold coming on, and another 8 or 10 in the evening. No side effects.

I checked that against the document as posted, and that’s what it says there. I had to re-type the data because it wouldn’t format correctly on FR but I double-checked the dosages to make sure they were the same as on the original doc on:

https://covid19treatmentprotocols.blogspot.com/

It does say after the vit c (”see dosage adjustment below”) but I don’t see any dosage adjustment. It’s hard to understand for me, not being in the medical field, but I thought others might be able to decipher it better.

Um, no.

I take twice that amount, per day and have taken MORE/daily, without any problems.

This is from my reply post on March 3rd.

I almost died from a very bad lung infection. That's when I extensively researched Vitamin C (almost 25 years ago). Vitamin C is a lifesaver for me. Since taking Vitamin C, I have only missed four days of work because of illness.

Among other vitamins mentioned earlier by others, I take on average 15-20,000mg of Vitamin C per day. I may skip 1-2 days a week...

The two occasions I caught a bad bug, I took a regimen of 20,000 mg every 2-4 hours. I have taken up to 160,000mg in a 24 hour period. Whatever bug I had was knocked out within 48 hours. No Antibiotics in over 20 years.

The body will tell you when it has absorbed all the Vitamin C it needs; it will "flush" any excess. You cannot overdose on vitamin C.

Below is an fascinating paper from a doctor in 1981

VITAMIN C, TITRATING TO BOWEL TOLERANCE, ANASCORBEMIA, AND ACUTE INDUCED SCURVY

"Tolerable" when discussing Vit. C isn't the correct word. You'd have to ingest a lot of vit C to reach the intolerable levels because excess is urinated out. The body can only absorb so much.

"While small doses (under 200 mg) are completely absorbed, only a fraction of a single large dose of ascorbic acid can be absorbed at one time (500 mg or more). Spacing the doses out will increase the overall absorption." http://blogs.oregonstate.edu/linuspaulinginstitute/2015/05/28/questions-about-vitamin-c/

The tolerable upper limit varies according to what toxins and deficiencies the body is dealing with. I am allergic to house dust, cool temperature molds, cigarette smoke, and ragweed. I have been taking from 3 to 6 grams a day for over 45 years. Am now a healthy 81. Excess will cause elimination symptoms like burning urine, acid farts, or diarrhea. I have taken as much as 24 grams over a day with a severe flu bug. I also once gave a an allergic woman with yellow jacket stings and no bee sting kit 50 grams over an 8 hour period. Neither dose cause elimination symptoms. After I gave the woman the first 10 grams dissolved in a glass of water, her eyes and throat opened up in about 20 minutes. When allergies close my nasal passages, I will take a gram or 2 and my nostrils will open up in about 20 minutes. When I have taken enough grams with a high fever, it will drop about 2 degrees after 20 minutes. So when treating serious symptoms I will take a gram or 2, wait 1/2 hour and if no improvement take a gram or 2 more, wait, repeat until results occur. Then I will wait 5 or 6 hours to see if the symptoms get worse again and repeat as needed. If high doses are taken then one should taper down the dose over several days. The Chinese Vitamin C trials are using 24 grams IV a day. Drs, Cathcart and Klenner have used IV doses as high as 100 to 200 grams a day. See their names at Google. NY is also trying Vitamin C, but probably too timidly. The link below is from a doctor currently treating patients with Vitamin C. He has a 10 minute video.
