Same here. My mother opted to move into a continuing care community many years ago.
For many years, she lived completely independently in a townhome.

But her health started deteriorating, and she has since moved twice into areas with higher level of care.

She is now in her late eighties with several serious medical conditions that require skilled care.

She also has a large family that lives all over the country.. All of us visit her many times a year. I have one sister who still lives close yet and visits her many times a week.

As it turns out, the facility instituted quarantine procedures long before the
State required them to. So now none of us could visit her. We still all talk to her many times a week, and the floor nurse is in regular contact with my sister.

People should not judge. It was my mother’s decision to move iwhere she is, and she did it without consulting any of us.
