Exclusive: Captain of aircraft carrier with growing coronavirus outbreak pleads for help from Navy
https://www.sfchronicle.com/bayarea/article/Exclusive-Captain-of-aircraft-carrier-with-15167883.php
The captain of a nuclear aircraft carrier with more than 100 sailors infected with the coronavirus pleaded Monday with U.S. Navy officials for resources to allow isolation of his entire crew and avoid possible deaths in a situation he described as quickly deteriorating.
Thank you for responding, BA. I will consider your questions as time allows in the next day or two ... truly I will. What I am focused on now is just encouraging people to maintain a perspective beyond this acute health threat. There is one, you know — a larger perspective — of things going on that I think will have a much more far-reaching impact than even this virus. It doesn’t matter that some do not agree with me or that my concerns are hyperbole ... I just want people — particularly my associates and fellow Americans here on FreeRepublic — to take a moment away from virus news and reflect on what is happening to our Republic ... and I am very interested in what people think about all of this ... not out of boredom, you see, but out of respectful interest. Cheers!
The Navy admirals and the CDC apparently take the same stupid pills. :-(
Or maybe they had to get their nails done.
Yep, nail salons were still open in my neighborhood until they had to specifically be added to the shut down order yesterday.
You haven’t said anything about enforced medical procedures.
Is that not the very definition of tyranny?
I strongly suspect you’ll be one of the first clammoring for enforced vaccination for this virus when one appears.
Because it will make you feel safe.
And be totally oblivious to the irony there.

I use the oil before and after, but there is a spray I use to cool the blades. If you dont have that, you can just take breaks. Yeah, my dogs look pretty bad when Im done, lol, but the feel so much better.
Where have I mentioned anything about forced vaccinations? To be frank, I haven't spent much time considering the thoughtful arguments for or against it.
Where have I said anything about "feeling safe"? All I've brought to light is my concern that people haven't considered -- and I think they should consider -- what is happening to our Republic and how will we recover from it.
I simply cannot cover what I think about all controversies and concerns in a brief posting. And although I appreciate your obvious passion about the points you note, you're heading in a different direction than am I. Best regards & Cheers!
God be with you then.
You do realize that these powers have been used before, many times, in the presence of ‘bad microbes’.
Before the 1920’s/30’s public hygiene initiatives, ‘bad microbes’ were the constant companion of society.
We had laws to acknowledge this.
Quarantine laws.
Still on the books.
Just haven’t been used in about a hundred years.
100 years ago nobody would have batted an eyelash at being quarantined.
Restaurants WERE shut down.
So were movies.
And other public venues.
Why do you think it’s unconstitutional this time if it wasn’t unconstitutional last time?
You think you could talk to JR and see if he could put all that info in a heading so that people could access that information any time they want?
Vaccine mandates wreck the rights of the individual in the name of public health.
You likely don’t care if someone’s right to refuse a medical procedure is compromised in the name of ‘disease prevention’.
You can’t complain because THIS time it’s a right YOU value that’s being wrecked in the name of public health.
My sons coworker tested negative so is back to the hospital tomorrow. However, they will have Tyvek suits and respirators now, thank God.
Brother reminded me so I thought of all the things I use batteries for.....It would be awful if the the hand held channel changer died out!!!;)
I don’t know that it wasn’t determined to be unconstitutional at the time and it doesn’t appear to be regarded as such today. My concern is that things are far more different today than they were a century ago and because of that and because with modern technology most people are nearly completely distracted (absorbed, if you prefer) by the non-stop breathless reporting on the virus I am very concerned that the “social” and “legal” impacts to our Republic will spiral out of control to a point of no return (at least beyond a peaceful return) before we even realize it. Just looking to generate thoughtful discussion in the current context of things.
Ya know, all this talk of how horrific little pieces of fabric are makes me more concerned what their plan/goal is.
If #WearingMasksBad is such an issue, then WHY on God's green earth, do medical professionals need them and wear them?
The medical professionals wear “comfort masks”... :-)
But he won’t admit he’s stashing them ever! Easier to blame the his front line workers and the public.
