We are driving old vehicles and spent our own dollars to fill the pantry.
___________________________
As are we, but those pricey vehicles are not paid for. They are mortgaged for 7 years and those mortgages are just rolled over whenever they decide they need a new car.

I have heard of folks with 2 vehicles and $60k in car loan debt.

On the pantry give-a-ways, I heard from someone in another small town way north of me that some of those in line *said* they were picking up food for multiple families and drove off w/2 or more boxes, leaving nothing for those further back in line.

Hopefully they are mostly downwind. Otherwise you might want to tarp the side of your exposed house lol. Start sealing windows and doors.

Gov. DeSantis says Florida can’t take sick cruise ship passengers

by Lizandra Portal, WPEC Staff
Monday, March 30th 2020
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (WPEC) – The Holland America cruise ship with four dead passengers and more patients infected with the coronavirus is cleared to cross the Panama Canal, according to the Sun-Sentinel.

But whether it reaches Florida, remains to be seen. Gov. DeSantis told Fox News, “We cannot afford to have people who are not even Floridians dumped into South Florida using up those valuable resources,” said DeSantis, according to the Sun-Sentinel. “We view this as a big, big problem and we don’t want to see people dumped in southern Florida right now.”

FEMA sends refrigerated trucks to New York City to hold bodies

By ERIN DURKIN

03/30/2020 02:43 PM EDT

FEMA is sending refrigerated trucks to New York City to serve as temporary morgues as the death toll from the coronavirus grows.

There is a “desperate need” for morgue space in Queens in particular, FEMA regional administrator Thomas Von Essen said Monday. The borough has the most coronavirus cases in the city, and Elmhurst hospital has been swamped with gravely ill patients.

“We are going to have an awful lot of folks that aren’t going to make it,” Von Essen said at a press conference with Mayor Bill de Blasio, as they welcomed the hospital ship USNS Comfort to the city.

As of Monday morning, 790 people have died in the city from the coronavirus. There are 36,221 confirmed cases.

use potting soil in your containers; garden soil is too dense and will compact.

Cash is truly the king.

It is until control over markets, which have seen price manipulation for years, is lost. Then significant revaluations of everything, including the value of currency, in relation to real goods and services will occur.

Humans have never witnessed what may result if this occurs at this point in our history.

So much now depends upon such a myriad of specialized functions and external dependencies, it could prove existential to our complex way of life.

Just sayin'...

What a cheeky statement !!

Tell us, top Chinese official, where are all the facemasks your pandas raped the world of? Sold to other nations at $2/pop?? Only one of the Chinese districts was shut down. Leaving a dozen others to produce masks. Yet they stole the world supply anyway.

And what is that basketball player doing buying face masks from China? Why give them a single red cent? Buy India.

Where are they coming from?

Shelter in place means do not leave your home county and no traveling to vacation homes outside of your home county (at least it does in Calif)

LA

Louisiana Department of Health Updates for 3/30/2020

March 30, 2020
The Louisiana Department of Health has updated its website to reflect the latest number of positives and will continue to update its website at noon each day.

As of noon on March 30, the Department reported 485 additional cases since yesterday, bringing the total to 4,025 positive cases.

Hospitalization
A total of 1,158 COVID-19 patients are currently hospitalized; of those, 385 patients require ventilation.

Long-term care facilities
The Department of Health has identified COVID-19 clusters in 28 long-term care facilities in the state. For context, there are a total of 436 nursing homes and adult residential care facilities in Louisiana.

Below is the current list of confirmed clusters, meaning the facilities the Department has had time to properly notify:
Bayside Health
Chateau De Notre Dame
Chateau D’Ville
Chateau St. James
Colonial Nursing Home
Good Samaritan, New Orleans
Guesthouse of Slidell Nursing Home
Inspired Living Kenner
Jo Ellen Smith Living Center
Lakeview Manor Nursing Home
Lambeth House
Legacy Nursing and Rehabilitation of Port Allen
Luling Living Center

Riverbend Nursing and Rehab
Saint Anthony’s Nursing Home
Saint James Place
Saint Joseph of Harahan
Saint Jude’s Nursing Home
Saint Martin’s Manor
South East Louisiana Veterans Home

A cluster is identified as two or more cases that appear to be connected.

Because of the sheer volume of cases, we will be sharing the updated number of clusters every day at noon. We will rely on facilities for reporting on the most up-to-date information. The Department continues to work with facilities to minimize the spread of the illness and protect residents and staff.

Deaths
The Department reports an additional 34 deaths since yesterday, bringing the total to 185 deaths. Deaths are listed on the LDH dashboard by parish under the by parish tab and information by age can be found on the by age group tab.

Below is what we know about the underlying conditions among COVID-19 deaths to date, as of March 29:
Pulmonary (12%)
Cardiac (21%)
Diabetes (40%)
Chronic Kidney Disease (23%)
Chronic Liver Disease (2%)
Immunocompromised (4%)
Neurological (6%)
Obesity (25%)
No Underlying Conditions (3%)

Entire Crew Of A Russian Nuclear Submarine Is In Quarantine After COVID-19 Exposure
Personnel from a second sub and a floating workshop are also in quarantine, underscoring the dangers the virus poses to naval forces worldwide.
BY JOSEPH TREVITHICKMARCH 30, 2020
THE WAR ZONE
RUSSIAN MINISTRY OF DEFENSE

The entire crew of one of the Russian Navy’s eight Project 949A Oscar II class guided missile submarines is reportedly in quarantine over concerns they may have been exposed to the COVID-19 novel coronavirus. This underscores the very serious implications that the rapidly expanding pandemic is almost certain to have on the readiness of military forces around the world, including the U.S. military, as time goes on, something the War Zone has already explored in detail.

B-port, an online Russian news outlet based in the northern port city of Murmansk, was first to report that the crew of the Oscar II class submarine Orel was in quarantine on Mar. 26, 2020. Russian Navy officials made this decision after learning that a civilian contractor who had visited the boat on official business had come into contact with another individual who tested positive for COVID-19

Oh, I agree.

Everything that has not yet changed, will. And pretty soon too.
