I go between Pluto, Tubi, Hulu, Netflix, Vudu, ShoutFactory, Crackle, Comet TV, find some old, musty movie on YouTube that’s in the public domain now, or just grab the Roku remote and surf. My wife and I cut the cord a year ago, and go with all the stuff that’s free or just has a minimal monthly online fee. For Netflix and Hulu, we do account sharing with other family members, so it’s almost like a BOGO. Screw our cable company, they’re the same as all the others. They want $99 for the bottom tier service, and serve up a bowl of alphabet network soup, 99% of which is PC dreck and Big News propaganda. Honestly, I’m not missing cable TV one blessed bit. My wife found Downton Abbey somewhere on a Roku channel, and sat there for a week, vegetating on the sofa and binge watching. LOL She gets all of her CSI: BFD, NCIS, all that investigative bilge, firehouse shows, etc., as-wanted. I’m insterested to see what other free web-based channels other Freepers are watching, because I know I’ve probably missed a few. I’m equally at home watching history and outdoor shows as I am sci-fi.
Amazon Prime has the most amazing collection of History documentaries and shows. Plus I re-watched Band of Brothers and the Pacific. I am an Amazon Prime customer for the shipping I use, the Free Videos are a nice perk
Guernsey potato peel pie movie with my mom (Netflix).
Downloaded history vault on Roku. Fantastic shows by category. Watched a number of series on Russia, Egypt and the wars.
Watched the newer version of Papillon, it was pretty good.
I have seen the Steve McQueen one too.
Nobody will ever match reading the book.
It’s worth a watch IMO and it was free on prime.
We started watching “The Hunters” (Amazon) but it was truly disturbing, pandering & creepy disfunctional/dimissive (in a Tarantino rip-off way). So ... we’re back to “The First 48” and “After The First 48” ... plus “Survivorman” here and there. Oh, and “A Taste Of History” w/ Chef Walter Staib (excellent!)
Watching You Tube about jfk,jr being alive.
‘Spy Game’... with Brad Pitt and Robert Redford was intense, spell-bounding and absolutely engaging! Redford is the lead and you have to pay attention to follow it, which are my favorite types of movies. Was just great watching this!
“Last of the Samurai”...with Tom Cruise...I had forgotten just what a great watch that was when it first came out, well worth another watch!
“Anna and the King”....with Jodi Foster as Anna. A remake of the King and I. Fabulous cinematic imagery and visually very epic!...Loved it!...and Yun-Fat Chow was superb as the King. If I was Asian I'd say he was delicious! HA!
One disk a night.
finishes season one and 2 of 24, first it was Europeans, then season 2 was Americans, now watching season 3 looks like it is the drug cartels. Sherry Palmer is still a bitch, Jack is still Superman, Kim is still HOT!!!So is Michelle Dressler,And DC still has a SWAMP that needs draining.
Watching ‘Babylon 5.’
“Time of Honor” series about the Polish Underground during WWII.
Rewatched The Sting with Redford and Newman last night. Great movie. Tonight I’m watching Chisum :)
Also re-watching some of my favorite KDramas, like “My Love From the Star” and “A Gentlemen’s DIgnity”
I find much on YouTube. A tremendous variety.
On You Tube Big Rig Trucker. He shows his drives live almost everyday. Travels to most all of the states. You can still surf internet on your tablet & watch him too. I enjoy the scenery & his commentary.
You Tube Dean Braxton he died, went to Heaven & came back. Really interesting.
