Where in Texas are you located? Wife and i plan on moving there when.we retire in 5 or so years....probably the hill country area.
I am a scofflaw so I ripped the Cat out of my stingray and put in true duals and some headers.
Sounds and performs MUCH better..well as good as a tired 200k original never rebuilt smallblock worh a stock tranny and rear end.
I just got done pounding in 25 T-Posts and the soil is perfect for that. I’m in East Central MO.
Seems we can’t get more than two days without rain. I’ve got seed potatoes and all the direct plant seeds for cold weather crops I need to get in the ground and I’m not fully tilled yet.

He lives in Sequim WA which is near the Olympic Mtns in Western WA.
Thw youtube videos of his 1/2 garden are amazing as is he.
The youtube channel I found with his videos as L2Survive.
He uses thick layers of wood chips to create great soil.

Well....I tried to buy some Pansy's on line..No can do.
Didn't want to drive 60 miles to buy some...so bot some seeds.
I have always thought Pansy's were misnamed...cuz they are way tuff...and pretty!! ha!! Anyway...
Well....turns out I bot a bunch of seeds....And the instructions were weird..place them into the frig..for a few days. Huh???
Then plant them...but place them into a dark place. ??? HUH???
I did all that...and just looked at the seedling's...and they are "doing something"...Ha!!
So I eased them out to a shady part of my "G"
I like to garden but this is strange!!

I worked on the raised beds today, running a hoe through to make sure the weeds stay away (8 beds total) - 3 are cut flower beds (1 is brand new) & I’m taking one of my veggie beds for flowers, too so we’ll have 4 total this year.
Last year, with zinnias, tithonia, sunflowers & some other flowers in a mixed packet, we had some beautiful beds. The one that had a sunflower & tithonia was a big hit with the butterflies and hummingbirds. We’re hoping for a similar flower garden/experience this year. I also planted a late garden of zinnias the end of August - flowered into early November and the bees/butterflies were still coming, probably surprised they could find blooms so late.
So back to the birds - hummingbirds will be here soon & I expect to see a lot of goldfinches as well in breeding plumage of bright gold. Bluebirds abound & are checking out the bluebird houses. We have flocks of robins, at least 5 pairs of cardinals & a pair of fat doves that hang around the bird feeders.
Spring is definitely in the air along with clouds of yellow pine pollen as of this weekend ..... and then it hit 90 at our place this afternoon - whew!! Spring, we hardly knew thee!

I air layered a twisted Oak..and a Red Bud tree today.....in the wild.
I have a very nice plum tree that I have air-layered two limbs...One should be opened maybe next week.
Have a Hibiscus air-layered also...and two unknown bushes/plants air-layered as well....
And my pansies are in the garden...mostly shade..and sprouting.
This is Shiitake growing world. I grew some a few years ago but didn’t start them at the right time. Just experimenting but I did get some. I could probably start a little patch of cultivated Ginseng here too. I might look into that stuff later.

Nobody exciting has shown up here, yet. I’m expecting Orioles and Red Breasted Grosbeak in late April, early May.
Spotting the first ones is one of the best parts of Spring!
My tomato and pepper seedlings are doing great, indoors & under lights. The greenhouse has spinach (slow!) lettuces, arugula, Brussels sprouts and kale going.
I have big pots at the end of some of the garden rows and those have spinach, arugula, radishes and beets planted. A little early, but I’m trying that method from MI Gardener when you seed quite heavily and early. It works for him; can’t hurt, and I had extra seed to use up.
After three days of rain, Beau can probably do some more work on the new garden beds. I’m on Kennel Chores today - the dogs didn’t get to go out to the exercise yard for as long of periods as usual with all the rain, so they’re kinda squirrely! Osage and Emma did NOT enjoy getting hailed on the other afternoon, but they got under a tree quick enough. ;)

We raised cattle until just a few years ago. I’ve pounded more t-posts in my lifetime than I can count. Now if I need to drive more than two or three I find a helper to hold the post while I push it in with the loader bucket.
I tossed some lettuce seed in the cold frame yesterday. The rest of the garden is way too wet for the tiller. Might be able to get on it Wednesday if the rain holds off.
I would have turned those big bullfrogs into frog legs.
My pond is loaded with bullfrog tadpoles right now. Thousands of them. The frogs came out of hibernation a couple weeks ago. They’re all really skinny right now, but they will fatten up soon enough.
The only aquatic life I want to see is Crapie, Perch and/or Bluegill on my plate! :)
Just placed an order online for garden vegetable plants and seeds. Our local garden chain is closed because of the virus. Not sure how they will be when they are up and running again. Hopefully Jung will be able to take care of us this year!
