See? All these people who say science is a bunch of hooey are crazy. Just wait until they want some Pappy Van Winkles. They'll probably end up with Jim Beam.

I think more research is warranted.
Can’t Pelosi give me a $ million or so to acquire samples to test?

I’m just here to complain about the words Bourbon and Shot being used together, as I drink some Four Roses Small Batch Select, the new 104 proof stuff. I’m guessing the headline writer is still in college...

But it would only work, it seems, in bourbon. In the ACS Nano paper, Carrithers and his team report that the same sort of distinct webbing does not develop in scotch, nor in Canadian whiskies. My first thought on this is that this distinction must be due to the fact that Bourbon must be aged in virgin American charred oak barrels.
This something unique to Bourbon. The oils in wood of the oak will be altered chemically by the charring.
If the Bourbon barrels are reused to make another whiskey those oils will be largely gone.

Moonshiners call it legs. My friend triple filters his shine. It comes in around 170, and is seriously smooth. Deadly. Fond of using all kinds of berries, especially elderberries.

And, THAT, LibWhacker, is simply Anti-American. To attempt to pass off Jim Beam as Pappy? Deserving of a firing squad, or a noose.
Because, as we all know. Life is too short to drink bad booze.

In wine making, it’s called “Terroir”; the impact the local environment makes upon the product.

I am skeptical. The only thing to do is to repeat the test at home with 10-12 seperate bottles of bourbon.

Interesting article, although I’m not sure that I’ve ever tasted bourbon.
