Here is another article based on a review of numerous new or ongoing research findings:

CONCLUSIONS:
There is rationale, pre-clinical evidence of effectiveness and evidence of safety from long-time clinical use for other indications to justify clinical research on chloroquine in patients with COVID-19. However, clinical use should either adhere to the Monitored Emergency Use of Unregistered Interventions (MEURI) framework or be ethically approved as a trial as stated by the World Health Organization. Safety data and data from high-quality clinical trials are urgently needed
In other words, it works but must be used carefully because clinical studies are not yet complete.
I understand the arguments against using drugs that are not fully tested, but has anyone read ANYTHING that suggests cholorquine is NOT at least somewhate effective against covid-19?

Gag. WHO getting a toe in this. These antimalarials are RELATIVELY safe (thus a prescription is required in the US) and have tons of well done Big Pharma safety data available based on licensure studies and postmarketing safety monitoring.

I, too, am trying to understand the arguments; however, I have read NOTHING to suggest chloroquine, “a widely used anti-malaria pill that was first approved in the US in 1949,” has no positive effect on COVID-19.
