I’m a great proofreader, and do it often.
Jack Daniel’s 80 proof, Patrón Tequila 90 proof, Hendrick’s gin 88 proof...

All the various things US House Democrats want to put in the Virus Relief bill have NOTHING at all to do with the fighting the economic effects of the Virus. The "the" before "fighting" is not necessary.

No. Even the best writers need proofreaders and editors.
That so many think they can do without is the reason there’s so much bad writing on the Internet.

re.
Writing lesson number 1. Always have at least one person proof read for you.True, although several friends reviewed something I wrote a few months ago and each one missed a fairly obvious error.
Revised writing lesson number 1: Get someone who doesn't like you to proofread. They'll always be glad to find something wrong. ;-)

How can masks be in short supply in NYC and the state of NY?
19 years ago we suffered the single most tragic day in this nation during our generation; 9-11. During the immediate aftermath there was concern the rescue workers at Ground Zero did not have enough masks and did not have the proper masks.
Given the experience of 9-11, why is NYC and NY caught short handed on masks this time around??
good point.
it aligns with the issue of ventilators
https://nypost.com/2020/03/19/we-didnt-have-to-have-ventilator-shortage-leaders-chose-not-to-prep-for-pandemic/
“Its a little late. Several years ago, after learning that the Empire States stockpile of medical equipment had 16,000 fewer ventilators than the 18,000 New Yorkers would need in a severe pandemic, state public-health leaders came to a fork in the road.
“They could have chosen to buy more ventilators to back up the supplies hospitals maintain. Instead, the health commissioner, Howard Zucker, assembled a task force for rationing the ventilators they already had.”

It will not take much to trigger a massive credit crunch like what happened in 1929.. A) Extra period at the end
B)..."like that which happened in 1929" hits the ear better. At least it does mine.
