The roles are reversed, now. Real Brother takes care of his wife, after all the years she took care of him.

So, we’re going to a granddaughter’s today, and I’ll get to meet quite a few relatives that are very much younger than the parents I saw many years go.

It’s family so I hope it turns out OK.

They were going to go to Mass, but the Little Short Person needed to take a nap.

Nice to see lots of family members that you don’t always see!

It was a fun visit, though it was tiring and I got ear fatigue after a while.

But it was good. The oldest boy has had a stroke, and his left side is paralyzed. The middle son, the Jr. was there (it was at his daughter’s place) and we were treated to prime rib. What a feed! Some traditional Lebanese foods, too, so that’s always fun!

I’m going to go change clothes, because I’m tired of being “presentable.”

My kids gave me a nice compliment today.

They said I was “an okay boomer”.

Good morning. Happy Monday. I hope everyone’s Father’s Day was to their satisfaction.

The puppy gave me a nice gift. She didn’t wake up Saturday night. She let me shower at 4:30 and come out at 5:00 without waking anyone else up.

LOOK! A kitteh ‘splody thing for breakfast!

Good morning.

Father’s Day was very different, this year, and I met a branch of the family that I had only seen the beginnings of years ago. It was noisy, the food was mostly Lebanese and delicious, and I even had a small glass of wine. Just enough to remind me I don’t like that particular type.

It was amazing to see the siblings and their spouses help Pat, the stroke victim, cutting the prime rib for him and doing things to make it easier to navigate. It was touching as all get out.

I have been so off my diet this trip, and off my schedule, and I feel as though I’m a different person. One I don’t necessarily like. All I could think about last night was to get home and have my quiet life back again. I just don’t do lots of noise and confusion as well as I used to.

The host of the shindig is on the cover of “Financial Planning” magazine, “special report.”

Family strangers are still strangers, and that’s hard for me because I have to force myself out of my shell. In the end, CFIDS makes things like this an ugly venture.

But I’m extremely glad I came!

Good morning, everyone. Glad the puppy had a good night, and ‘Face is looking on the bright side. I love Lebanese food.

This has been a good trip, much better than I expected, but going home is looking better and better.

One thing is certain and that is that I won’t fly out of Vegas again. I’ll brave the five-hour shuttle ride to SLC and fly out of a sane place.

I like being at home best, too. I’ve occasionally said that my ideal vacation would be for everyone else to go somewhere for a week, while I stay home with the pets and maybe have Tom the Son over for dinner one evening.

I know that feeling!

Now, of course, I’m worried about the birds. So tomorrow can’t get here soon enough.

I’ve decided I need more music in my life and when I get home, I’ll start listening to CDs or the radio. I’ve forgotten how soothing music is.

One of the answers in today’s WSJ crossword was “Enya.” Vlad had never heard of Enya, so I’ve pulled a selection up on YouTube. It’s atmospheric!

Vlad got tired of it after the first song ;-). Tom the Son likes the “Celtic Woman” performances that are a spinoff from “Riverdance.” A touring company came to Charlotte a few years ago, but it was way too expensive for us.

Well, gang, I’m going to close off for this time, and try to get some stuff packed up, so when I get up tomorrow I can just shower, grab my stuff and go. It’s going to be a long day!

Later!
