Maybe you can go to church next month!

This is making me glad we don’t have a dog.

Yes, T-c, I think if I ever get a dog, it will already be housebroken.

Going to church under these conditions is better than not going at all, but because of my last name, I most likely won’t know anyone there (even the bishop will be staying home) and it will be like walking into a new ward all over again.

But I won’t have to think about it until next month, so maybe things will change by then. ;o]

Rescued greyhounds are trained.

I think we’ll have our current pets for the duration of their natural lives and then just have our outdoor animal friends, the birds.

True, but they need a very large yard or someone who can walk them vigorously at least once a day. I'm not capable of that, and it would be grossly unfair to the dog to not be exercised.

I suspect when these two critters go over the Rainbow Bridge, there won't be any more critters to replace them. I'll just clean the cages and donate them.

Puppies are harder than kittens because kittens will naturally use the litter box and don’t tend to yip loudly enough to make the next apartment complain about noise.

However, puppies can be trained.

Yes, indeed, they can. But I would have to hire someone to do it for me. The physicality of the task is far more than I'm up to at this point in my life, so much as I would love to have a puppy, I suspect it's out of my reach at the moment.

Puppies can be trained much more than cats can.

I feel like I’ve run out of steam.

I’m trying to keep busy, but there’s only so much I can do. And now I’m very tired. I’m hoping I feel better in the morning.

I finished up the project with that beautiful yarn you sent, and I was disappointed because I made a mistake on the second half of it and saw no way to rectify it without having more yarn. So I had to improvise, and I never like doing that. (The Dismally Inept Yard Service is here, making itself hatefully inept...) Anyway, to the trained eye, the shawl doesn’t appear to be anything but expert. So I won’t tell if you don’t.

I’m sure nobody will ever see a mistake.

Not in my work, unless they’re looking for it, and it would have to be pointed out what part of the fabric to find the mistake in, along with some knowledge of the craft at hand.

I know, it sounds cocky, but my rule of thumb is to leave a mistake in everything I make. It doesn’t have to be a big one, but it goes back to what I learned about some ancient cultures. They believed if an item was “perfect,” it would bring ill will to the owner. So they would build the item with a small flaw. And so do I. Just not this big a flaw, or so obvious - to me. ;o]

Nobody should be looking for mistakes. That would be tacky.

Mrs. ArGee once told me the Amish always intentionally put a flaw in their needle work because only God is perfect.

That’s as may be. I always introduce more than sufficient legitimate errors!

Yes, I’ve heard that. And the Navajo leave a “Spirit Trail” in their blankets, so if you want to know if its an authentic blanket, look for the trail.

First it was my printer, and now it’s my Kindle. Dead. It was used when I got it, but it lasted almost a year, and that’s good. It looks like, when I go to Wally’s this morning I’ll have to dip into my trip stash to get a new Kindle. (Android tablet) I can’t travel without it because my hours are so much odder than everyone else’s.

Now I’m going to go sort pills and wake up the birds.

I started a post but the laptop died in the middle of it so I couldn’t even preview it.

It’s gonna be one of those days.

Good morning.

The morning floof is adorable. The pills are sorted and now I need to go find something else to do because I’m getting that panicky feeling again.

Good morning. Beebers hate us, I think.

We have one of Frank’s friends staying with us: his family is having a teenager crisis and wanted him in a safe place for a while. (Fill in some things I could say about former residents here.) I suppose they’ll come get him later today.

Kathleen is always thrilled to see non-brother personnel. They let her play Catan with them last night.

My brain is all scarmabled this morning. What I wanted to say didn’t come out the way I wanted it said. So I had to try again. Let me just say that I commiserate with anyone who has teenager crises, because they’ve happened in my house, too.

I’m glad Kathleen had new blood to demonstrate her acute intelligence and warrior attitudes with. By the time she’s ready to date, boys will treat her with kid gloves. ;o]
