Bill the Son has found a job: a new job with his previous company.

He was laid off only because of the shutdowns. As soon as things started opening, he started going to hang out with his former coworkers and bosses, and they snapped him right up now that the ad business is beginning to cook again.

Our puppy becomes part of our family today. Mrs. ArGee says she’s already bonded with it. Our daughter has promised to let her think she’s our dog as soon as our daughter returns home.

Good morning.

I was listening to some uplifting talks by dead people. The topics are as timely as if they had been written for today.

In a bit, I need to put some ink in the printer (again) and get some stuff re-printed. It’s really discouraging to print a pile of stuff only to have it come out faded and/or blank...

And while stuff is printing I need to re-type some old emails (to get rid of the clutter because I didn’t know how to print emails without codes and ads when I printed these) so I can take them to my Real Brother. He’s interested in family stories. When I get back, I’ll turn to on the four histories that are waiting to be transcribed. With Dragon, I may have them ready by Christmas. All printed and bound. I hope. :o]

The dog may have other ideas about who to bond with. The Daughter may be wishing from the sidelines...

Is the new job in a different department and with more pay? Either way, the fact that he is once again gainfully employed is excellent news.

I think it’s roughly the same pay but in a different position. He said he could have moved, but they didn’t offer what he thought was enough to justify that.

I guess he can start looking for his own apartment again. He might want to get outside the Charlotte city limits, though, since “defunding the police” seems to be catching on there. Matthews, Mint Hill, Pineville have their own police forces.

Her name is Eileigh. Mrs. ArGee likes unique names. It is pronounced EYE-lee.

I used to know what it meant.

If you read the news, you’ll realize that defunding the police doesn’t mean doing away with funding of the police.

I looked it up to remember. It can mean “Light” or “Blessing”. We like both meanings.

I’m sure the Charlotte PD will still have plenty of administrators and pensioners once they’re “defunded,” but that may not translate to security in the areas where Bill might live.

I don’t think we’ll have to worry about defunding the police here. Maybe SLC, but that, too, is a stretch.

Hopefully, all this herd mentality will dissipate soon.
