A kid who licked toilets as part of the #CoronaVirusChallenge says he's now in the hospital with coronavirus. @gayshawnmendes was also just suspended from twitter
Maybe, if I had tried to earlier, I might have gotten 40 winks, but now it’s daylight and there are things that have to be done. Like mixing up the lasagna and getting it cooked before I have to buy more meat. I don’t even want to think about that! So I’ll muddle through. Maybe I’ll head for bed 30 minutes sooner... ;o]
Oh, yes...I forgot to tell you... the Cussler Museum is closed until further notice, and I’m not sure if that’s due to his death or the WuFlu.
The cafe we were supposed to meet my Real Brother at is open only for online/pick-up orders, so I don’t know where we will meet him.
AND! The lasagna is in the oven!
Well, that’s good news about the lasagna, at least. Good thing we got the car books, though, since you won’t have the opportunity to see the real ones unless “further notice” arrives.
It was very good, but I forgot to put a dab of sugar in it. It still tasted pretty good. So I opened a Heineken and got half the lasagna eaten before I remembered I had some garlic bread in the freezer. :o[
Anyway, it was good to have a meal I’ve cooked. It’s been too long, and I’ve forgotten half the things I’ve learned. But I also realized once again why I haven’t cooked for so long — all that standing was very painful, so I suspect it will be a while before I cook anything as time-consuming.
My Real Brother said today that CO is opening up so things may be almost normal, and Further Notice may happen in two weeks! We’ll see.
That’s all good news.
We had a nice trip to the Book Lady. I think we came home with fewer books than we traded, especially if Tom takes “The Joy of Cooking” home. DP is sure either Tom or Bill wanted it.
I received nice bookmarks from a FRiend today. It’s a nice world full of thoughtful people out there.
That FRiend had to trim some of those bookmarks to make them fit into the envelope at hand! I could have used a business envelope, but the card just kept calling me: “SEND ME! SEND ME!” So I did! Now, it’s time for the bed, because it’s calling me in a different way!
The card was very nice, too.
Interesting guard hairs on that little floof.
Good morning.
I have the slows today for some reason. I don’t know how much of anything I’ll get done, because so far, I’ve only taken a shower and checked the usual websites. UNNGH.
DP and I went out for a walk. Hot day already! I think I’ll go to Walmart before I take shower and dress for Mass in the official black skirt and pink blouse for today.
It’s 60° now, and might get up to 80°. It’s clouding up, and earlier this morning, it smelled like rain.
I’m going to be a slug because tomorrow is wash day.
My Favorite Daughter seems to be really pumped about my visit. Will miracles never cease? Seeing her the way she is now compared to the way she was from her teens on is like a 180° turn. I knew she would come around as an older adult, but I never expected the changes she’s been making. She credits AA for it. I don’t care how it came about. It’s a relief to know I won’t be going to my grave and leaving an angry daughter behind.
I hope the visit goes extraordinarily well! 12-step programs can really change a person’s life if he or she really commits to the process.
I’ll be spending more time with my Real Brother than with FD, because he has less time Here than she does. I haven’t had any quality time with them for a lot of years, so I’m really looking forward to this.
She has been working hard, trying to get her mind right and making sure she adheres to the AA principles. I say, good for her! She WANTS to do it, and I think that makes all the difference.
Absolutely. You’re not going to do the work unless you really, really want to see the result. I’m impressed by her achievement!
And I hope you and the Real Brother have plenty of quality time. And cookies!
His wife is Lebanese (for a while, she was “Navajo” because of the political situation in the Middle East!) and she is an excellent cook. Her parents came from Lebanon to escape persecution, so the daughters all learned the best of the Lebanese cooking. She said yesterday that she would make breakfast burritos for me, but I’d rather have some of her baklava. I think her mother was about 4’2” and wore a size 4 shoe. Anyway, his and my sense of humor are sharpened when we get together, so its going to be fun.
Ah, Lebanese food! Good thing I just ate lunch ...
I have extra bed rails but I’m not going to ship them to you.
However I would suggest you inquire at a mattress store or a furniture recycling center.
Excellent point.
Afternoon, epople. It’s hot here. I had a nap with a cat after Mass.
Tonight’s food experiment is ‘struggle pizza’, spam and canned pineapple...
That sounds very Hawai’ian. Let us know how it tastes.
