Maybe your county was shipped some tests and identified previously undiagnosed cases.

There’s no question that church services are the kind of environment in which illness spreads. I’m annoyed with some of the procedures our church has initiated, but I know they’re doing the best they can.

No, I think it’s just our proximity to so many national parks. Normally, we’re besieged each year by a million tourists, including a lot of Orientals and Europeans. They fly into Vegas, then tour the parks, making Grand Canyon the last, then to Vegas again where they fly home. So I’m not surprised because the parks are open again.

I miss church. It always sustained me through the week, and now, I feel almost as isolated as I did in Henderson, church-wise. It will end soon, I’m sure.

Could be.

I’ve been transcribing lyrics from a video for a song Asuncion wants to do, but some of them aren’t clear. Hopefully they’ll be clear to a native Spanish-speaker!

Oddly, this has been a month of really long days, but it has been a really short month.

I don’t understand the time continuum flux issues that make that possible, but I experience it all the time.

It seems endless to me. I mailed my brother’s birthday card earlier this week. His birthday is June 6, and if I don’t think about it until June begins, I’ll be too late.

It has grown very dark here. I think something is about to go Boom.

Another hot one. I had a series of little errands to run, the last stop being the library, and when I got home, I saw that Chuck was in. I had some things to discuss with him, and he played match-maker with me and a new tenant. I told him (”Bill”) that I don’t do company, and Chuck reaffirmed that.

Anyway, before leaving shortly after 0900, I had had some conversations with the folks at Dragon, asking where my backup CD was. The person essentially told me to prove I ordered it. I did. I sent the original confirmation email from them, in which it was clearly stated that I wanted a backup CD. Well, gloriosky! Their mistake, it’s coming by “UPS in 2-3 days.” No charge. Period.

Now, I’m going to enjoy a ribeye and some Heineken NA and get on with my day!

Sounds like you’ve had a productive morning. We’re having a storm.

It was a tiring morning, for sure. But now I can just sit and do what I normally do. Conserve my energy for the trip.

I, I’ve suffered long enough in this ghost town
I saw the walls, called their bluff and took them down

When I think of all the time I’ve wasted
All the bitter pills I’ve tasted
I have to hang my head and frown
I, I’ve suffered long enough in this ghost town

Soon came a day under skies that were gray
When I knew I couldn’t stay in this ghost town full of
Clones and clowns and carbon copy towns, with
Kine and swine and nothing that was mine,
And this town’s decline with my hatred intertwined,
So I gather all I find and I bolted it to me,
Fueled my fires and I grabbed my pliers, and I’m lit!

I made my own machine
Yes, we’re building steam
I hate the same routine.

I made my own machine
Yes, we’re building steam
I hate the same routine.

I, I never looked back—I want to never return
If I could find a fuse, those bridges would burn

But I keep this horse at a run
Keep my hand to my gun
My path the vampires have learned.
So I, I can never look back; I can never return.

I hate the same routine

~Totally wicked instrumental~

I made my own machine
Yes, we’re building steam
I hate the same routine (×4)

Atmospheric and polysyllabic, with just enough vampire to raise an eyebrow.

I had a lie-down with Jake. Shannon wanted to come in the room, too, but I was being flattened by Jake, so she tried it with Kathleen and succeeded. Just what we need, another needy pet!

Our former resident texted to thank me for bringing her up to be civilized. Apparently there’s some conflict with her roommates, and the landlord is taking her side because she paid her rent on time and cleans up after herself, at least compared to others. I told her, “With that and writing thank-you notes, the world is your oyster!”

It would have gone well with the enormous thunderstorm.

I just microwaved a cup of “Extra Spiced Chai” that Pat left on the counter. (A Scout is thrifty.) It’s not bad with some milk in it.

We’ll probably have another one, but it has stopped for now. DP and I went for a walk and rescued a turtle.

I rescued a turtle once from a fish-ladder. Not a good combination.

No, that would be bad. This turtle was sitting by the street; it has probably been washed out of the woods during a downpour. We carried it back to the woods at a safe distance from the street.

I guess the Real World is beginning to be an eye-opener for the Fromer Resident. Good.

Some pets are needier than others.

I think the Former Resident was blissfully unaware of how much was being handled for her by the Evil Oppressors. Funny about that!

Speaking of former residents, Tom should be over sometime today to fix the fan in the boys’ room: the globe fell off. Having fed him up to his current immense Height, I expect him to do things regarding ceilings!
