I’ll get another male, but probably not until I get back from CO because I don’t want to spend my trip money. But parakeets aren’t meant to be in separate cages. The small cage is too small to be used full time, as its meant for a training cage. But it’s what I could afford at the time. So rather than have Gonzo abused, or sent to Coventry, I’ll get another male.
If you have another male, Camilla will pick on them equally?
No, actually, a second male will have a calming influence on Camilla. No females, though, because they wouldn’t last long. Camilla would kill a second female. Males can be put together, but females are not very nice to other females.

Criminy, I hate the cold!
I expected to smell firewood this morning when I opened the doors, but all I got was a cold blast of air. And some kind soul was brewing coffee.
I need to think of something warm to eat for lunch.
I’m feeling very negatively about today, myself. Considerable progress has been made on the former girls’ room, but I’m not feeling like putting in the effort to get the persons and their personal stuff moved today. It can be done fairly easily tomorrow.
To exaggerate an overused pop-psych trope, it’s “re-traumatizing” me!
Having eaten lunch, my next thing is I’ll put on my exercise clothes and get on the treadmill, where I’ll either read a book or listen to Jonah Goldberg.
I agree with feeling negatively about today. I’m too cold to feel positively, and the cold is making my joints hurt, the worst in my lower spine. But I can’t take any more morphine until 1400.
So I’m going to take my pills and fix some chili for lunch. If it didn’t take an effort on my part, I’d drive to Lin’s and buy a small, overdue birthday cake. Because I haven’t had a birthday cake in years!
The chili was a disappointment. The last time I had this brand of chili, it was nice and thick and worth every bite. This was watery and slightly bland. It still tasted good, but the texture I enjoyed was missing.
In other news, I managed to call the shuttle office and reschedule my rides to and from McCarran next month, and found that I can park for free for the week I’ll be gone. Also, it would seem that the construction in the Slot Canyon is done, so there shouldn’t be any delays. So the last bit of my trip preparation is taken care of. I just have to remember to get my tickets....

I’m trying to stay busy until time for me to head down the hall, at which time I will finally get warm.
Hour on the treadmill, then I cut up vegetables for dinner. I think I’ll make roasted cauliflower with curry powder.
Hmmm... roasted cauliflower with curry powder? Where do I find the recipe?

Cut up cauliflower into pieces roughly the same size. Toss with a small amount of olive oil and as much curry powder as you want. Spread on foil-covered baking sheets. Cook at 400 until it’s consistency you want.
I wish it was bedtime, just for me and Jake!
Best use for cauliflower is to cut it up into chunks. Boil it. Strain it. Mash it into a paste...
Then dump it in the trash and order a pizza.
